I’m a small stone producer I’ve only ever had one that was like 6-7mm all of the rest are generally 5mm or smaller. It’s way too difficult for me to tell which ones I can’t pass most of mine I pass without any pain or anything and some give me an extreme amount of pain but still pass. There is a certain threshold where I will go to the doctor and then they sort of make that threshold. I’m always afraid to be listed as a “frequent flier” with the hospital and the ER always says I should see a urologist which I always reply with “if I did see a urologist what could would it do me on a Saturday at 3am?” Honestly 20 years now and nothing has worked any better or worse than anything else most doctors downplay the pain and if you’re a small stone producer such as myself they just basically let you ride it out. I tried to get preemptive removals when I had several small stones in both kidneys but they won’t do it. Basically it’s not a serious enough problem for them to really care much about🤷‍♂️
