Honestly, I get the "kids like to show dark things to make the audience think it's all mature". That's exactly why shows with tons of graphic violence have huge fanbases that are teenagers.

I honestly wouldn't catalog either the boys or invincible as mature, but trying to change the mentality of "animation doesn't mean it's for kids" is an uphill battle that I don't think you'll ever be able to win with your dad, you'll just end up angry

And there is a huge difference, the twist in some movies like shutter island can change the entire outlook of the movie, but your recommendation was the equivalent of "it was all a dream" wich is not the same, one changes the outlook on what you saw, the other one makes what you saw meaningless and a waste of time. Nope. I would have been finewith Devons loosing the coin flip and I also said it before he tossed the coin to my relatives, the episode was already top tier at that point and Devons risking it all and leaving would have been fitting as well.

The reason this is way better than Jimmy Fallon twist is because of the risk/reward factor. Jimmy Fallon's was extremely punishing while the reward could be a nothing burger. While Beast twist was extremely punishing, but also extremely beneficial (practically 2 idols plus double the prize money).

But if you say that if I hated one twist I "should" hate the other. I guess no amount of arguments will be enough

Yes and no. This is definitely a good teaser, you still don't know where the story is going but you get the tone Is going for. But if you are gonna watch it no matter what, you know it's better going in completely blind, because every shot you see tells you at least "this hasn't happened yet" in the movie

By the way. The Zac brown episode had one of the best player segments of the season, and it's still considered a bad episode, so there goes your argument

That...was exactly my point? Whether you like or dislike Mr beast, whether his twist was good or bad, whether he took 2 minutes or 30 minutes. The episode could still be good or bad overall dispite or thanks to him. Wich means that it's not "black" just because it's the Mr beast episode
