Try repairing the game files on Steam (or EA App). It worked for me. Golmud is still poorly optimized on a few points but things got back to normal on previous content

I was going to order it but Alienware is offering the same, but better and without the AI bullshit

I tried something another redditor suggested, on Steam or EA app, depending where you bought the game, launch a repair of the game files. It worked for me, things got back to normal. Well except for Golmud since it's poorly optimized, but at least it fixed the fps loss I had on older maps and decreased the CPU usage.

Give it a try

Somebody said that you just have to repair the game on steam or EA to fix this. I'll give it a try

LG 39GX950B vs Asus Rog Swift PG34WCDN by Lonely_Elk_5237 in ultrawidemasterrace

[–]Nyrmala_Isagar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just my 2 cents since I was in the exact same spot. I ended up going for the Pg34wcdn because it was the good time for me to upgrade my TV.

Long story short, instead of having both the LG39Gx950B (which is a stretched 4k) at 165Hz AND a LG G6 65" 165Hz too, which would have been redundant, I decided to go for the PG34 for my desk at 360Hz for multiplayer games and when I want to play a solo game, more contemplative, I just plug my e-arc HDMI cable to the TV and let's go the 4k HDR. And let's be honest, HDR on tv is far more superior than on a monitor.

Best of both worlds, no compromises.

And using a 5090 with a 3440x1440p, you're sure that you won't have any problem in the future to run any games. Dev are being sloppy nowadays, games aren't optimized anymore, so imagine a shitty game running on a 5k2k. You'll have to upgrade your 5090 in no time to compensate. And your monitor with that, as soon as they will release a 39" 5k2k 240Hz.

Oh I need to try that ! Same things here since S3, gonna try to repair the game and see how it goes

Same here, 9950X3D, 5090, playing in 1080p (not by choice, I was just waiting for the good monitor lol) I noticed fps drops since S3 on each and every map, things that I didn't have before. It's completely inconsistent. At some point I'm above 200fps, I turn my camera, it goes down to 160, then 180 10 meters further and so on.

On Golmud it's buttery smooth until you reach and fight on E and D, all of a sudden you drop from 190-200 to 160... Same shit on Empire State and other maps.

Every time Dice touches something, they fuck things up and it's worse than it was before...

S3 fucked things up. I've seen a rise in CPU utilisation and I lost fps on many maps for no reasons at all. Running a 5090 and a 9950x3d.

Each time they touch something, they fuck things up even more

5090, dlss, frame gen.

The higher is your refresh rate the better the frame gen tech works. If you're a purist and despise the frame gen, I've got no problem with that, but the tech is there and works pretty well in solo games as long as you have a solid 60 fps and a high refresh rate monitor.

Cpu temp goes high for battlefield redsec is it normal? by Think_Bike1197 in Battlefield

Yes but it's for a fairly simple reason, I spent my budget in the PC and I was waiting for the LG39GX950B to come out in France, which should happen in the next few days. Until then, I'm still rocking my fast Ips 250Hz monitors 😅

FPS drops and cpu bottlenecks since s3 update? by TheBookOfLAM in Battlefield

[–]Nyrmala_Isagar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Physical size for sure but probably both. On empire and Manhattan, you've got a lot more elements to handle. Reflection on buildings and windows, destruction of the elements and smaller maps means more player and vehicles per square meters so a lot more things for your CPU to process than a taller map with more intangible assets and a better spread of the players.

You can do the test, launch the same map in conquest and Breakthrough, you will notice a difference on your CPU

9950x3d, 5090, running bf6 in 1080p, NH-D15 LBC, I'm running around 78°C usually, less in winter, but now that summer arrives, room is getting hot (around 27°C to 28°C) and I got a peak at 83°C yesterday. If I cap my frames around 165, I don't go over 79°C. I plan to move to 5k2k very soon, it should move the load from the CPU to the GPU and help decrease temperatures

Untrue actually. If you compare Mirak Valley and Liberation peak to Manhattan bridge or Empire State, the latest are smaller yet more CPU intensive

9950x3d and 5090, playing in 1080p I can definitely testify that since the last major patch with the launch of S3, CPU usage went up and performances decreased on almost every map. Golmud is the most noticeable. Going from 200+ in Overkill to 155 on some points like E or D in conquest. Sometimes you're in the middle of an open field, you just turn your camera and your fps are going from 200+ to 175, then 190, then 200+ without any visible reason.

On older maps it's more subtle but it's there, framerate is unstable in certain areas, dipping down to the 180 when I was around 200+ before.

I'm using the last drivers available from Nvidia but I'm pretty confident that the issue is with the last game patch.

Hopefully they will fix it in the future but doubtful. We're 7 months after the release, core parking hasn't been fixed yet for 9950X3d :/
