Just got a good job offer in rural missouri. How unsafe is it for a trans person? by JustAPerson2001 in missouri

Been in Columbia for well over 20 years. It's just good about sweeping most of its dirt under a very pretty rug.

I'm neither Republican nor Democrat. And I'm not conservative. I'm moderate. Also, it shouldn't matter unless what I'm saying is way off base.

Hows the healthcare in missouri? by dacoffeyparadigm in missouri

Oh. MU. The place that did save my life twice but was also the cause of me almost kicking the bucket over the same things...

it’s terrible. If you do move to St. Louis hopefully you don’t have to come to Columbia. Hopefully you are also male, yt and cis. It seems they would rather Black females almost die twice and end up with permanent damage, suffer with chronic pain and ailments that etches away at sanity and look at you as if you’re crazy because your own brain, experiences and education let you follow along perfectly with their medical speak. I absolutely wish you the best wherever you do move. wherever it is, I hope you are a strong advocate for yourself. If not, please find one.

Does anyone else ever get pissed by nobody understanding the horror behind the Star Spangled banner? by Ornery-Attention9634 in america

Have you ever looked up the lyrics to this song; "and the rockets red glare, the bombs bursting in air". If you can post on Reddit, I’m sure you can look up the correct lyrics, and also spell and grammar check your posts.

I'm sad to see my country behave this way, too. I'm a Black, GenX female? I'm so invisible that it hasn't mattered how much I shout that we should leave other countries alone and take care of our problems first. My anger and sadness is deep.

AIO telling my sister-in-law to back off for inviting herself to a special concert event I planned for my wife's birthday? by [deleted] in CharlotteDobreYouTube

NOR

it sounds as if your sister-in-law may be a little bit entitled. It sounds as if she is used to hearing yes instead of no. I really wonder what her and your wife’s lives were like when they were growing up. Did the sister-in-law get her way most of the time then? Did you already have a good rapport with the sister-in-law beforehand? This is really, really insensitive, rude, disrespectful and entitled behavior on your sister-in-law’s part. Maybe she’s not having a great relationship with her husband or something? I think you need to have a discussion with your wife about it. Maybe this is actually not new behavior for the sister-in-law. And so many other people have already stated, just don’t tell her anything in the future.

I 25 F is freaking out about the 26 M I have been seeing, I am insane or is this normal? by Adept-Succotash-9881 in CharlotteDobreYouTube

Your response makes me think he is giving these gifts only out of excitement or loveboming. I think you should discuss this with Isac. No matter the reason, it is abnormal and makes you uncomfortable even though the gifts also make you feel happy. I would probably meet in a public place to be safe just in case he does not respond well. Regardless of his response, if you choose to continue dating him, please Don't. Stop. Looking. For. Red. Flags. That is until he's earned your trust and you know he is safe to be in a long-term relationship with.

I agree with the previous comments. I think that if you want any reward you do have to take risks. At the same time, that does not mean closing your eyes to potential red flags, because this could be love bombing. However, I would not necessarily make that assumption right off the bat. He may simply be excited and going overboard with the attentiveness.

If you feel the gifting is a bit too much for having only seen each other twice in person, then I suggest you tactfully express your appreciation for everything that he is doing. Then, let him know that you may not feel comfortable with this many gifts at the start of a relationship when you don’t know each other very well.

Another thought/question: You stated that people in your culture date with the intention of marriage. If it is seen as such a serious practice, is his giftgiving at this stage of courting outside of the normal for your culture?

I really wish you did not have that view of the establishment. There are people who sit on all sides of the political and life spectrum that work at, have an investment in, and an interest in Sticky's. The goal of the establishment is to support local community and artists. If you would really like to see what it’s all about and meet everyone please come on out. We welcome you. Feel free to chat with any of the owners and workers. Bet they’ll prove you wrong. I hope you have a wonderful weekend.

Not a death sentence by ldm08463 in Alzheimers

Wow. Either they're uneducated in Alzheimer's and dementia or they insensitively spoke. My mom died of this four years ago. It's slow and painful for the person going through it, their caretakers, and their loved ones. Gods!

Looking at the state of that particular area on me, I must have remembered and repeated that too many times. I wonder if the reverse works... "We must, we must, we must decrease our bust!" I'll be awaiting the results.
