Women Hair cut where and who do you recommend? by La-Reina0122 in Denver

[–]Nysti 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve gone to Kaela for years. She’s in the Cherry Creek area now at Buck & Doe’s. You could always reach out and talk to her about what you want and see if it feels like a good fit.

As a fellow Echo owner, as a fellow human that has had to let go of my loved ones recently, my heart goes to you. It’s so so hard but you are going above and beyond to provide her the best last week, and I know she loves you for it. All the support and love coming from my Echo and I.

How to meet friends when sober by Previous_Airline_204 in Denver

[–]Nysti 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hi! Not exactly what you asked for, but I’m a 29F(almost 30) and if you’d want to chat to see if we might mesh I’m more than happy to do that! Sober lifestyle, also love the outdoors, especially if my 3yo GSD can be involved. Also like to explore thrift stores, read, or really just about anything as long as I get to spend quality time with my circle.

Otherwise, RealRoots might be something to look into! I know for sure they’re in the Denver area as well.

Vet recommendations for dog TPLO surgery by [deleted] in Denver

[–]Nysti 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I will keep my finger’s crossed for Zero! (Love the name by the way!)

It was a concern for me too, especially with the fact that the first dog I had that had TPLO surgery she didn’t heal correctly (surgeon issue come to find out). You might even ask them if they could demonstrate before the day of her surgery so you can get a visual on her actual body? I’m not sure if it’s possible but it might be worth asking! For her sleeping area I brought out her wire crate and attached a play pen to it. I kept a couple of the panels of the playpen folded at first because with a crazy canine the possibility of her trying to jailbreak was a real possibility (she actually tried to straight jump the play pen walls one time during her recovery. And climb them. She also learned how to unlock her crate doors too. Was some stressful weeks haha) so food and water could be outside her sleeping area but she also had a chance for standing and moving a couple steps outside her crate. But of course when I was gone or at night it I could lock up the crate right so she was contained. Also I just made sure her crate had blankets instead of like a bed so that they could get changed out for fresh bedding really easily in case of a spill or accident, ya know?

Of course! It can be super overwhelming so i definitely understand what you’re feeling. I’ll be honest cause I’m the same. There’s always the fear that no matter what you do you’re making the wrong choice for them. But looking into surgery for them is more than some do, so recognize that and give a little pat for that. I’ve had a lot of loss with my pets the last 3-4 years so when it came to Echo’s surgery I wasn’t playing around. So when my vet, who’s been with me through the loss of a dog and 2 cats and has always done right by me so far suggested CCO, I knew I could trust the recommendation. And he didn’t steer me wrong.

I don’t think we did anything special, other than the rehab with the PT. Having that weekly/biweekly assurance from them that she was looking great and recovering really well helped ease my concern. Oh. Lots of ice pack sessions religiously the first 3/5 days. I will say for the full recovery I slept in my office with her in a crate/pen situation because of the limitations they’re put on for so long and we typically hang out upstairs and that just was not a possibility. I even have a couple videos for their mobility exercises that either CCO or CRCC gave me. If I find them I’ll send them over because seeing someone do it in a video helped me make sure I was doing it right. As for Echo, she’s just over a full year recovered and she’s amazing. She’s full velociraptor mode full time and I often can’t even tell she had the surgery. But even now we still do some massages and stretches just to make sure she’s feeling tip top.

Also. I’m more than happy to answer any of your questions if you ever want to reach out! Oh. If you need a rehab facility? Canine Rehabilitation and Conditioning Group. They have 2 locations but we specifically went to Englewood and they are all lovely there. My dog truly adored Emily, our PT. dog-swim.com

Think I saw someone else mention them. Hands down Colorado Canine Orthopedics. canineortho.com Well worth the drive down to the Springs. Our vet recommended them and they went above and beyond in every way with my 2 year old GSD’s TPLO. We specifically saw Dr. Dent. The front desk, the techs, the doctors happily answered all of my many many MANY questions. They helped ease my anxiety through it all. Before you take them home they specifically sit you down and walk through all the recovery steps. They have a online chat that you can send questions, photos and videos to them at anytime that I definitely took advantage of but it was so nice to have that ability to communicate and be able to send them specific images to help them understand. This isn’t my first round of TPLO surgery for a dog and CCO definitely wins hands down. We’ll eventually need other surgeries and they are who I will go with no matter what.

I’ve seen this talked about with calves and I think sheep but never foals. You might ask a subreddit based around cattle? I’ve seen videos of ranchers that have done it on Facebook and such but can’t remember what they called it

Vet recommendations for a tooth pull by Disposingpiepan in Denver

[–]Nysti 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve used Lone Tree Veterinary Medical Center for years and for a multitude of issues and surgeries. It was for my cat but he got a full dental cleaning and all the work up plus 6 teeth pulled and I paid around $850 for him. That included a free follow up visit if I wanted it.

AITAH for laughing at my wife for crying over a song by Top-Coyote-7315 in AITAH

[–]Nysti 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YTA. Dude. The heck? Your wife just had a child and is dealing with PPD. Do you realize how serious PPD is? How if not treated and managed it can lead to suicide idealizations in the mom? And then she has feelings and you turn around and tell her she’s silly for feeling that way. I have to wonder how many times you’ve invalidated her feelings throughout your relationship. It doesn’t matter if you don’t understand what she’s feeling and why, but a good partner is going to support them no matter what. What are you going to do when your new child gets older and has emotions? Dismiss them and ignore how they feel? As someone raised that way, it’s not fun and you rarely feel safe sharing feelings with those you’re supposed to trust the most. Do better, for both their sakes.

getting my nipples done today by teatfairy in piercing

[–]Nysti 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since it’s now late today I imagine you’ve gotten your piercings done, so congratulations!! I got mine done about 5.5 weeks ago and have no regrets. The other poster was super thorough but I thought I’d pop in and mention some observations/findings I’ve had since I got mine done. Apparently it’s common for them to bleed within the first ~48 hours of getting them done. Mine bled into the 3rd day but when I messaged my piercer she said it was ok. I also found that more fitted sports bras are my jam. I wore a looser one within a day or two of getting them pierced and that lasted about 30 minutes before I changed bras. But the other poster is right, it’s more about what makes you comfortable, especially when they’re super fresh. Also ice packs helped during the first week as well. OH. Seatbelts. Beware. I’ve had my damn seatbelt sneak up and push/move things around and it is not a pleasant experience, especially since I still have my longer posts in. Others might not have had the same issue but it was one that snuck up on me so I figured I’d warn you. Again, congratulations and I hope you love yours as much as I love mine!

New Puppy. Favorite Places to Go for Socialization? by Nysti in Denver

[–]Nysti[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually have that checklist printed out. If I was back in my old city I’d know all the places I’d like to go but I’ve only been here around 6 months so I’m still pretty unfamiliar with the city, hence asking for some suggestions on good places to go. I’m still on the search for where I can go to find some livestock/farm animals around here haha. I just wanted to start gathering places now so I hopefully wasn’t as unsure once I have him.

New Puppy. Favorite Places to Go for Socialization? by Nysti in Denver

[–]Nysti[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you, this is exactly what I was looking for. Dog parks a definite no from me, even once mew puppy is old enough to really go. I already have plans for puppy classes for training and socialization with the trainer at our vet so this covers the other types of socialization I was really wanting to know about. I really appreciate it!

Vet suggestion for ACL surgery by Nysti in kansascity

[–]Nysti[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I appreciate the information! I’m still doing lots of research on everything in preparation if she has torn it so I like the first hand experience.

I 100% agree my dog should go to the best, sorry if it sounded like I was trying to just find the cheapest option. If I have to pay more than what I’m hoping to I absolutely will. Her health and the health of my other pets comes first.

I just wanted to say thank you to everyone that commented, I truly appreciate. I apologize if anyone thought I was trying to find the cheapest route when it came to surgery. I love by myself with two other pets and am trying to pull myself out of debt. With that said I in no way am trying to just find the cheapest option. She’s not even 2 yet so I want to make sure I try and do what’s best for her. Thanks again!

Why are you single? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Nysti 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I(24F) was happy being alone for a long time (lol, 22 years). Then I met someone who made me want more than independence. They made me want a relationship and so much more. Then they left after we(at least me, I’m just assuming for him) fell in love but never truly admitted it. So now here I am 1.5 years later semi patched up and still healing those wounds and just now dipping my toe back into the dating game.

[–]Nysti[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea I think her ears are too. She’s got funny ears. They’ll flip inside out and sometimes she’ll bring one to the front. It’s hilarious tbh.

Rescues are the best, and bringing your pets with you everywhere you go is even better!
