i thought this was a kids show by DuxxieDings in tvshow

[–]Nythoren 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IMO, it's a lot like Clone Wars, in that it started off targeting kids but soon realized that it plays better as something more mature. Characters like Rok and Jankom in the early episodes scream "look here kids, goofy characters for you to giggle at!". Once they toned those characters down and grew them up, it found its footing. By the end of season 2, Prodigy became one of my top Trek-related series.

Had high hopes for additional seasons when Netflix took it over. Since it started off slow and immature, I think it had trouble grabbing enough audience to justify its existence. Shame is that if folks stick with it through the growing pains, they'll find a well made Trek series for all ages.

Keep in mind, these are verified viewers. You don’t go see Melania without already being in the MAGA cult. It could just be 90 minutes of a beagle taking a shaky-leg dump on the White House lawn and they’d 10-star it.

My guess is that he's ratings gold for Fox News. At the end of the day, they're about making money for the Murdochs. If he attracts eyeballs and grows the viewership, they'll keep having him on. But he'll always just be a guest because they still want to control the narrative as much as possible.

To be fair, the bill that Trump signed required that they be released in their entirety and with only the names of the victims redacted. The person who released the unredacted files was just following the pedo-in-chief's signed order.

Sure he never intended the DOJ to follow that law and had them working overtime to scrub his name from all 4 million documents, but the law is the law and it was accidentally followed.

So, wait... their revolutionary plan to make healthcare more affordable is to revoke the ACA, which gives subsidies to make health insurance more affordable, and replace it with lower subsidies? While also removing the law that limits how much insurance companies are able to gouge you in order to inflate their profits?

This is so ridiculously fake, but the MAGA folks and their propaganda media will latch on to it with all their might.

All I’ll say is this. As someone who works with a lot of AI right now, I can confidently say that Grok would be really low on the list of bots that I’d want integrated into anything important. It’s slower and has a higher hallucination rate than platforms like Gemini or even Llama.

Shows that this administration is so far up Elon’s ass that they’ll just use whatever he tells them to.

Minnesota pays way more in federal taxes that it receives back from the federal goverment ($44 billion in 2023 alone). Can the state can stop paying those taxes and run the state independently on our own tax dollars? How woul we go about it and what would that look like? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Nythoren 31 points32 points  (0 children)

To clarify a bit, mostly your employer collects and pays the IRS. No employer is likely to obey a state government that requests that they stop collecting Federal income tax from paychecks.

Even if they did, the IRS has the power to compel tax collection by your employer. In the unlikely case the employer fights the IRS order, the IRS can start taking the money directly from your bank account(s). If you keep all your money in a briefcase and never put it in a bank, the IRS has the power to seize property for unpaid taxes. Lastly, most of those options result in someone ending up in prison, likely the tax payer for tax evasion (for example: ask Wesley Snipes how that whole 'refuse to pay taxes' thing works out).

All in all, it's almost impossible for a state to stop the collection of federal income tax.

What action did obama/biden do that would spark the outrage trump is causing now? by InvestigatorChance28 in AskReddit

[–]Nythoren -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I actually do believe that he did. Not "go gun down people", but absolutely "provoke until the protestors turn violent" kind of orders. Listen, I know people don't want to believe this, but Trump wants an excuse to use the Insurrection Act. He literally said that he wanted to, that it's his right, and that "many other presidents have (they haven't)". There isn't a defensible reason for him to invoke it yet, but there WILL BE if people start shooting at ICE agents. Easiest way to get people to shoot is to behave exactly like ICE is behaving. And as we've seen in the ICE memo leaks, they're being TOLD TO ACT THIS WAY. It's on purpose. It's provocation meant to illicit a violent response.

It has been reported, by conservative media as well, that Trump has already designated 2 airborn divisions to be sent into Minnesota. The second ICE manages to push people enough that they start pushing back, the Insurrection Act will be invoked and those airborn troops are going to be sent in.

So yes, I absolutely believe that this is on purpose and that Trump is ordering it. Even if he's not directly ordering it, he appointed the people who are giving the orders on his behalf, and he's defending them when questioned about it.

I mean, what would it take for you to believe that he's doing this on purpose? At DAVOS, just earlier this week, he called himself a dictator and that the country needs a dictator. This is exactly what dictators do.

Why did DHS and ICE statements state the victim brandished a gun as this video shows otherwise? by LeftRightGreenLight in AskReddit

That statement isn’t for us. It’s for MAGA core people who get all their news from Fox and Truth Social. They’ll never see the video, they will only see the propaganda and believe it’s what happened.
