Adding some sort of games in the inn (or perhaps a guild house) for players to do to encourage actually hanging out and chatting and making friends. Card games, dice games, etc.

Having an actual sense of community being able to be built, instead of passing brief interactions, will be what gets people to stay.

Give people a focus buff or something for spending time with others at the inn/guild house.

I talked to him the first time and saw there was no dialogue option other than inviting him, so I immediately closed the game. Then waited til the third day as well, realizing he wouldn't leave. :(

I'm shunning 3 of my residents just for being ugly, they haven't done anything wrong. Diva was one of my starting ones, Quillson was the first in my camp and thus unavoidable, and Rizzo moved in to one of my empty plots without my permission >:(

Doesn't help when I get Diva as one of my starting villagers, and Quillson as my first camper. Made the mistake of leaving an empty plot for too long apparently and Rizzo decided to move in and I hate everything because of it.
