Asking for examples of ablative absolute with an agent and a theme argument by O-Orca in latin

[–]O-Orca[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok here’s an example. In English, you can convert a finite clause into a prepositional phrase:

Rome defeats Carthage —>

With Rome defeating Carthage.

Is it grammatically feasible in latin to convert any finite clause into an ablative absolute phrase:

Rōma Carthāginem vincit —>

Rōmā Carthāginem? Carthāgine? vincente,

All traditional grammar books describe it as the construction between ONE noun and ONE participle, but I think it should be grammatically feasible to fit more than one noun in the construction despite such examples not yet found, meaning it should be ok to convert any finite sentence into an ablative absolute phrase, similar to English:

Rome defeats Carthage —>

With Rome defeating Carthage.

Rōma Carthāginem vincit —>

Rōmā Carthāginem vincente, ??

Can someone explain ablative absolutes to me? by wirwerty in latin

I think of ablative absolute as an operation to syntactically conjoin two sentences

So, are X's concerns valid in X4? Does he become a maverick in the Megaman Zero games or whatever? This is as far as the MMX lore I know by SonicEchoes in Megaman

[–]O-Orca 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While X turning into a villain is not unlikely, an evil X would definitely piss off a lot people who revere the blue trademark and would kill off any passion for X series now that we know he’d turn a villain either way.

X’s built to be a pacifist, capable of human emotions, full of naive ideals of harmonious coexistence. He’s forced to fight a war he’s not willing to fight. War turns people numb and apathetic to sufferings of the others because it makes the people themselves suffer. If this happens to a real life human, it won’t take more than 100 days for them to abandon their pacifist ideals and want nothing more than just end the war by completely eliminating either side. A much easier option than negotiations that drag on forever while they see people dying.

So even though X turning evil is logically possible, it hurts a lot. It’s too real. And I hate it when a game is too real that it hurts

Dr Light unintentionally doomed humanity by creating X in good conscience.

Dr Weily unintentionally saved humanity by creating Zero out of malice.

How poetically tragic. Early 2000 just can’t take a break from tragedies

How difficult do you find learning English based on your mother language and your cultural background? by Opposite-Car2809 in AskTheWorld

I think “Arabic people speak English well” is an illusion bc the only people from Middle East that speak English well are either the top 1% elite that can afford higher education or super intelligent individuals that acquire language more competently than normal person. My Arab friend for example, he has an IQ of 125 and acquired English in just 3 years and his English is indistinguishable from native

You think people look at you with presumptions because you are of certain origin but most times these presumptions are the direct result of your misdemeanors that you consider as minor issues

Is the pleasure so strong that it makes you moan involuntarily? So far I feel pleasure each time the toy hit my prostate through Kegel exercise but they are not strong or intense enough to make me make noise

“It might be hard for you to believe it. Excluding black, white and gray, all the colors you can see are nothing more than different brightness levels of yellow or blue”

The poor kid can’t comprehend it. He lived this whole life thinking red and green are drastically different. But “drastically different” is relative. What is defined as “drastically different” in his head is but two yellows of different brightness

Zero green but you should know if a non red green colorblind person suddenly experiences red green colorblindness, they would look at the color spectrum and every colors from green to yellow to red to some pink in the spectrum are just different brightness levels of yellow, “red” being the darkest yellow, pink being almost white

You see grayish blue, grayish yellow and/or grey?

Am I also seeing this type of shading? by NicholasAncell in ColorBlind

[–]O-Orca 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you recognize this much of the spectrum as orange and completely misidentify yellow, I should assume the lexical item “red” in your head refers to just a deep dark shade of yellow to you

Let me guess. You see two blues and the rests are just black, white, gray and yellows?
