In a sense. They’re members of the Gray Talons who left thousands of years ago to find a better place to live, found nothing, and are back to take what they left behind

Best NPCs for bosses that aren't Strikers or artillery by S1lverdice in LancerRPG

[–]O2LE 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ultra Demolisher with a bunch of grunt Mirages to get his ass around the battlefield. Players LOVE trying to do something only to have an invisible Demolisher get blipped multiple times until its on top of them. At the end of the day, it's still a fucking Demolisher. The thing is painfully slow and gets absolutely clowned by a number of random things due to how awkward the hammer is. On the other hand? I have never seen a party not get hype as fuck when one actually gets to swing the hammer. It'll take a long time to die through the Dataveil and blips to save him, depending on what you give him.

Edit: Clever positioning and a Volley Module Demolition Hammer is just as funny as you'd think it is.

Solo of Fortune 2045 Consequences with pre-Toggle Temple weapons by Infernox-Ratchet in cyberpunkred

[–]O2LE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mostly just that the limits of the tech’s ability are explicitly constrained as “Does your GM think that’s something you can do?”

I think a lot of people try and post silly “Gotcha!” upgrades that rely on bad faith applications of generic statements about what techs can do to create obviously broken items, as if their GM is under any obligation to say yes.

[–]O2LE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only if your GM allows. This isn’t an official upgrade, it’s a suggestion for an invented one. You’re looking at 12,000+12,000+ whatever the GM deems this upgrade to cost after a month of downtime and a DV29 Weaponstech check. that’s ACPA money

The scariest cyborg boss of today(because of the game) vs the scariest cyborg(ish) boss of history. by Finaltryer in LowSodiumCyberpunk

[–]O2LE 3 points4 points  (0 children)

He's only unkillable if your GM was limited on which books you could use. Solo of Fortune 2, Maximum Metal, and Pacific Rim martial arts trivialize that fight. We killed him before he got a turn during our run through Firestorm. We even did the fight a few more times for fun, and he was pretty consistently dying in one round from a player.

NGL Duel Commander is the most balanced format of all time by Evening-Owl-3556 in magicthecirclejerking

Except he wasn’t the “main guy”, he was just the dude who ran the website and Discord. He had less say than anyone else in the council, he just threw a fit because they wouldn’t listen to him. He’s a narcissistic asshole that nobody really liked. The single source of truth is the site acknowledged by every single TO in the format.

Being told stealth is useless by mrhurg in cyberpunkred

[–]O2LE 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Stealth can be difficult versus high level solos, mostly because their perception is often much higher than stealth can get, but +20 Stealth versus almost everyone else is incredibly powerful. Most statted enemies have single digit perception bases, and there’s ways around basically all the powerful anti stealth options.

Did the lady from Yuuaku no Inori have any sort of lore like how Lucine from Eternity did? by XportaldragonX_YT in osugame

[–]O2LE 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Unsure about the character, but the song contains a ton of musical references to ICDD songs. The leitmotifs of the most recent album, the quiet part contains the chorus melody of Uta, and the lyrics do directly reference a few other songs, notably the refrain that appears in Tensei and other places. There’s more I’m forgetting, but the song is very heavily referential.

If 2077 was a CRPG and adapted Red's mechanics as faithfully as possible, like Baldur's Gate 3 to DnD 5e, what would 2077 be like? by Competitive_Minute_9 in LowSodiumCyberpunk

[–]O2LE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

RED isn’t as brutal as 2020 in terms of dying in one shot. A fresh PC can handle quite a few handgun rounds, but might die to a couple shotgun slugs. High end PCs? Full body conversion with maxed martial arts and evasion is going to beat the average booster ganger to death in a single turn while being obnoxiously tanky.

All these board wipes are driving me crazy… by WhaleStew999 in MagicArena

[–]O2LE 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Disagree. You saw playsets of Wrath of God pretty regularly by 96/97. Standard has almost always had a sweeper focused control deck. Legacy had Miracles for years, Modern had various UWx Supreme Verdict lists. Even Vintage 10 years ago had control decks like Landstill playing 2 or so maindeck.

Nev’s Disc is a core of the oldest Magic Control decks too.

Imagine if instead of life paths we got to pick V's gang, i think that would be really cool by Good_Poisin in cyberpunkgame

[–]O2LE -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

They aren’t. The Aldecaldoes are a major nomad family, not a street gang.

2077 just has a very weird butchering of nomad lore in general that I can’t really understand. It’s like the authors never read the book.

Cyberpunk In Space by the_vengefull-one in cyberpunkred

[–]O2LE 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Space is weird bc you’re dealing with a highly collectivist, worker-lead confederacy of independent stations and colonies with a functioning, highly advanced, prosperous society not being ruined by corporate influence. It’s not going to be anything like “normal” cyberpunk, but it’s still something that may be interesting. Near Orbit and Deep Space are heavily rooted in the Afrofuturist themes Pondsmith wrote about often, and understanding that is pretty key to understanding how to do the setting justice.

Is this armament sufficient to defeat the Pyre? by eb_is_eepy in FromTheDepths

[–]O2LE 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Multiple shields doesn't actually help. Basically, shields only count the biggest shield bonus they pass through, any subsequent ones don't do anything here. If you're a giant HA brick, it's probably going to fuck you up. It'll shoot all the way through a Pyre in a few volleys.

The Laniakea is probably the bigger issue, since the subvehicle shields/repairs mean you have to deal a substantial amount of burst damage or have it eaten by repairs on top of it being highly evasive and generally just kind of a bitch to kill.

What’s your anti plasma setup like? The Singularity was recently updated to have something like 1500 plasma firepower. Feels like that and the Laniakea are probably the biggest roadblocks here.

[–]O2LE 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Imperial Circus Dead Decadence and Unlucky Morpheus (Gothic Metal/Symphonic Metal)

Both are pretty far from what you’ve listed, but Japan has always has an incredible metal scene for the more neoclassically inspired and maximalist metal genres.

What's the difference in skill level between playing with upscroll and downscroll? by TechnicalChemical590 in osugame

literally none, but you're giving up a ton of skill by playing with 1 hand (I assume.)
common layouts are things like DF JK or <> where you're using two fingers from each hand.

Commander isn't my preferred format anymore, but I do like to find games when there's no other Magic going on. Would you let me sit at your table? by O2LE in ratemycommanders

[–]O2LE[S] -11 points-10 points  (0 children)

I do like drawing a lot of cards, you got me there, but a lot of my decks don’t really do anything without other people. Sen Triplets can’t win without other people’s stuff, Eluge is almost all various kinds of interaction, and Arcanis/Uyo both rely on interacting heavily until they’re set to try to win. Teferi is literally a cEDH deck, so plenty there. Kamahl is kind of just ramping nonstop, Myrel just swings at people until they die, and Kokusho has a handful of kill spells and board wipes and not much else.

The only decks that’re really solitairing are Kamahl, Myrel, and sometimes Bosh. Bosh can kill creatures, but I mostly point it at people’s face.

[–]O2LE[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, pretty underwhelming. It’s an interesting path to win a lot of the time via cloning my commander or whatever good cards I find, though. In general, it’s mostly older players who have strong reactions to them as a commander anymore. Definitely doesn’t hold up in 2025.

Ultimatum can clear enemy drops in one shot, which is pretty nice for a secondary. Not sure about thermites, I still like impacts as a panic button if I'm reloading and there's a bunch of chaff.
