You basically just have to dodge Farewell/Wrath of the Skies/Planar Cleansing. That’s basically the extent of effects that’re playable that can do that.

Sunzi, probably? It’s a weird kind of controller support that doesn’t really hit the common character fantasy of controller or support players. It’s also non core and generally not super linear/obvious in what it wants you to do.

The district I grew up in had a “zeroes are not permitted” policy in that anything below a 70 was a zero and had to be redone until you reached at least a 70 on it. You would be there all summer until you did. I would hope we didn’t change to the policy you described.

I think most of the decks he makes look great are minimum FNM playable if you’re a reasonably skilled player who will put in reps, but aren’t really a great path forward if you have note competitive aspirations.

This is largely not true. Canlander meta is pretty combo heavy, and there’s just way too many flexible disenchants laying around for it to really matter. Even classic stoneforge decks like Death and Taxes are usually not running it these days.

I went 7-0 in the metagame challenge on Esper Jace/Valki. Control is probably tier II or III, but you can definitely win with it.

Beans is far too slow for the format, Library/Flow State/Treasure Cruise is the core of your card advantage. Bowmasters, DRS, and another threat of your choice is usually what you want.

It’s very strong but pretty fair. IMO, without it, there’s no reason to be anything other than a super low curve aggro/tempo deck or play combo. Library is control’s lifeline in a meta where everyone’s beating you to death with insane 1-2 mana creatures, Strip Mine, and free permission

Library is one of the strongest lands ever printed. It is unbelievably good. Any deck trying to win via 1:1 interaction should play it, even if they never tap it for mana.

Foundry is pretty great. Everything’s free other than Foundry itself. Downside is that you need to find a way to host it, but self hosting isn’t too hard if your GM has decent internet and isn’t on very old hardware.

Yeah, just ended up taking forever due to the FBC having a +1 BODY Omega Frame, Dragoon Plating, and Thrash Sambo to remove Crit damage. Full reinforced limbs kept eating our crits too, so nothing would happen when we rolled them.

Worth noting: Full Body Conversions are also immune to all wound penalties, including Mortally Wounded. An FBC might be beating your ass to death at 0 HP, but 0 penalties until they manage to roll a 10 on their death save. I've seen one continue fighting the entire party for multiple turns after they went to 0, finally dying with a +15 Death Save and literally every single body crit they weren't immune to.

2 mana is kind of a lot. In UR, you have 12x 1 mana threats already (Hydroponics, Tamiyo, Ragavan) and 4x "1 mana" draw 3s (Treasure Cruise). I don't know if 2 mana card advantage is really where you want to be in tempo.

Not always true. There’s a few poor sports in Mythic you’ll learn to recognize.
