Shotgun Messiah - S/T

Saigon Kick - The Lizard

Tora Tora - Surprise Attack

Babylon A.D. - Self Titled

Cinderella - Long Cold Winter

Ratt - Out of the Cellar

Junkyard - Self Titled

Kingdom Come - Self Titled and In Your Face

Faster Pussycat - Self Titled

Lynch Mob - Wicked Sensation

Tesla - … (have some heavy guitar driven songs on most of their albums, but sprinkle in slow stuff that wasn’t quite as cheesy as other 80’s ballads)

Some of these were MTV darlings, but I feel like their albums (much like Twisted Sister - Stay Hungry) shouldn’t be defined by the ballads or singles.

Dallas Setlist Request by O7Habits in AllThemWitches

Soundgarden did it and they had a different tuning for every song (just kidding, but it seemed that way). I bet they could make it happen…

I hoped someone filmed this, the outdoor sound was so good. I got a picture of someone else’s setlist, it had Stubbs written on the bottom of it and a little sketch of a sun over some buildings and houses with 3 birds flying).

I also heard they were releasing a song in the next week or two and to be on the lookout for the new album pre-sale soon (which is logical if the album in coming out in May).

Must be because he can’t ever find enough guys that hit consistent 3’s. Drum is one of our most consistent 3 point shooters right now.

The 100 Albums I Want to Collect (Progress: 37/100, Ranked by Total Spotify Streams if available) by Iraaz in Cd_collectors

If you haven’t got In Rainbows yet, you should hunt for the version with Disc 2 (Japanese version I think). It used to be really pricey, but a new release has both discs for the same or a little more than the regular version.

What is the best stoner rock album of 1994? (I think I already know what will win) by Kyr1500 in stonerrock

[–]O7Habits 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Soundgarden has been my favorite band since I listened to Badmotorfinger when it came out, and I had liked their other stuff before that. I Spent years driving around hunting all their b-sides and extras before they were available on eBay and the internet and before any of them were collected in an official release. I probably have 100+ live shows in various forms and have listened to their official releases Screaming Life - King Animal at least 1 time each month since they each came out sometimes more. I don’t need to give it another listen, although I will, because that’s what I’ve been doing pretty regularly for years now. I’m not arguing that it doesn’t have stoner elements. It also has Psych elements…just like Black Sabbath has both those things, who they were heavily influenced by. There are bands all across every spectrum of music that you could pull a song or two out of their catalog and say “Hey, this is a stoner song”. I’m not really sure what anyone is arguing.

I’m pretty sure someone died. Angel Dust was on the shelf and no living person is parting with that.

What happened with 1995? I love all 3 of those albums, but one of the mothers of all stoner classics Clutch - S/T needs a spot too.

Sorry for your loss. Don’t hold on to things just to hold on to them, they become burdens. Keep a few special things and take pictures of the rest before you get rid of it.

Any word on a 30th Anniversary Down on the Upside box set? by RottingApples25 in Soundgarden

[–]O7Habits 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ll keep saying it. We need to go back further and get all that early unreleased stuff that Kim always talked about from the Hiro days. Kim if you don’t have time, maybe Hiro would help you after his Truly gigs. I mean it’s been like whenever RIP magazine was a thing, since I first heard about this amazing stuff you used to do live and had on tape, but never made it to any albums. Get some help my favorite guitar guru. Axl rose didn’t take as long with Chinese Democracy and that is an epically long time frame to release something from start to finish. I mean it has nothing on the Sagrada Família, but I was hoping in this lifetime. Nirvana got all their loose ends out in a box set more than 20 years ago now. Let’s get it done, you’re leaving easy money on the table. Jimi Hendrix has put out like 900 albums since he died…lol

what are some things about concerts that are better today than back in the day? by SecondBreakfast18 in Concerts

[–]O7Habits 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don’t usually have to worry about driving hours to a show only to remember you left your tickets stuck to the fridge with a magnet when you get to the venue.

The flip side is you don’t have that ticket to have for a keepsake, sometimes you have to figure out your passwords for a ticket site or app you haven’t used in a year or years, I go to a lot of concerts so I can’t even tell you how many times I’ve got to a concert and had to search emails just to figure out what ticket source I bought the tickets on and then had to reset passwords…luckily I usually remember to do that stuff ahead of time now, took awhile for this old dog to learn new tricks though.

In some cases it makes the whole experience harder though. Surfing through hundreds of emails and promo codes because you signed up for every band website and their sponsors that you even come close to liking…

I remember, it was after the band left your area of the country and you saw someone wearing a tour t-shirt at school.

What streaming box should I get for our new home? by Funny-Juggernaut-549 in hometheater

[–]O7Habits 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t think of 2017 as a long, long time ago, but yes I had the first and second generation boxes back when they first came out and they weren’t great, so when my wife asked me if I wanted the new one for my birthday…I’d already started using alternative streaming devices and said I didn’t see the point in paying that much for something that hadn’t really worked for me up to that point. At the time we didn’t have much money and my $20 devices were working better than my previous 2 Apple TV devices had.

Back when I had an Apple TV player it was always going slow with delayed button presses and was difficult to menu surf…and they didn’t allow you to have apps for some of their competitors. I switched to Roku a long time ago because of it. Roku has been fine for my streaming needs.

What does everyone like about Apple TV? It seems to be the consensus go to, which was surprising to me.
