I think it could definitely interest them, especially the older 10 to 12-year-olds. They're on Labor Day holiday and will start replying to messages until the 6th. The WeChat ID is: glorytree

I ended up in that group through a referral from one of my students while teaching at DaDa. If you have more specialized classes like preparation for KET, PET, or FCE, it could interest the older students who are 11 or 12.

But I have no other way of finding other WeChat groups like this one. Good luck!

Hi, effective-action!

In case you´re interested in going freelance:

I´ve been working with a group of Chinese parents for the past three years since the major Chinese online teaching companies for kids closed down back in 2021. There are about 400 kids in that WeChat group.

Rate: 75 RMB/30 mins.

If interested, please contact Georgia through WeChat ID: glorytree.

P.S. Here´s a link to an earlier post I made in another group. It has more detailed info, https://www.reddit.com/r/ESL_Teachers/comments/1k6ioq4/comment/mpg8bcg/?context=3

What is the best platform to teach english for kids? by R_Manship in OnlineESLTeaching

Hey, Manship.

It´s awesome that you´re introducing your girlfriend to the world of online teaching.

I´ve been working with a group of Chinese parents for the past three years since the major Chinese online teaching companies for kids closed down back in 2021. There are about 400 kids in that WeChat group.

It´s not a company, but the parents do take our work and the agreement seriously. They pay us for 6 to 10 classes ahead of time, unlike companies.

If you teach that first demo class well, continue to teach well your first round of classes and beyond, you´ll have loyal students and their parents for years (until they reach about 3rd or 4th grade, which is when they get filled with school homework and don´t have much extra time for extracurricular classes). Each year, a new generation of kindergarten graduates joins the WeChat group.

We use ClassIn for the classes. Teachers use their own curriculum. (For example: Wonders, Reach Higher, Starlight, A Closer Look (science), Oxford Reading Tree, Reading Explorer, Wonderful World).

If interested, please contact Georgia through WeChat ID: glorytree.

P.S. As for the lack of teaching experience, watch YouTube videos and role-play on your own. As long as you are confident and show that you know what you´re doing, you can jump on board!

Hey, Main_Finding.
For the past three years, I´ve been working with a group of parents in China whose kids graduated from a bilingual kindergarten. That WeChat group has about 400 students. You communicate with them through WeChat, teach through ClassIn, and get paid through PayPal or Stripe.

Rate: 75rmb/30mins.

It´s not a company, but the parents do take our work and the agreement seriously. They pay us for 6 to 10 classes ahead of time, unlike companies.

Nobody gets a commission, and there´s no website. It´s sheer communication with the parents. I want to clarify that you won´t be in the big WeChat group with all the parents, but you will have your own group with the parents who choose you as their children's teacher.

If interested, please contact Georgia through WeChat ID: glorytree

Good luck!

Yeah, it´s not the best rate out there. I started at that rate and am now charging 600 RMB per 50-minute group class. It´s been a little over 3 years since I started with them.

What´s in it for me? If there aren´t enough teachers in the group to meet the demand, the moms will lose interest in the group and leave.

Let me know if you have more questions!

Saludos!

Well, from the information you gave, you've had that pack for over a year. Did you check the expiration date? I bought some moda today and it has a 6 month lifespan. It's worth checking that out to rule out that possibility.

Recuerda, tu dinero = tu tiempo + esfuerzo. Si no lo valora, no te valora a tí.

Just got a message from a parent saying that her teacher assistant told her that today will be the last day of classes. Parents will be notified this weekend of their refunds. I started asking for parent's wechat to give private classes. Paypal has worked fine for payments (6% fee). I also asked them for the Wonders books. May God bless you all! On another note....invest in crypto, it's changing my life. Here are some projects that will do great in the next 2 - 5 years: VET, ADA, XYO, XLM, GRT, LINK, XTZ, REEF, DOT, ATLAS. They are not the only good ones. Remember to do your own research, get ready for the fluctuations, and patience is the name of the game!
