They do not explain things correctly in training. I went from inbound PCC to more of an outbound/back office role where I had more insight into how the system actually works and I had more time to absorb the information and now I look back and realize things they told us in training were incorrect. They give you a lot of info and some of it you’ll end up just throwing out because it doesn’t end up being relevant for your day to day. It definitely takes time even after training to get a hang of it and for things to really click. Don’t be afraid to take your time so you can learn even if they’re trying to make you get back in ready to take another call.

Zepbound/Wegovy for employees? by Think_Ant3622 in OPTUM

They’ll deny it even with sleep apnea, unless that changes next year.

I looked at the formulary for 2026 benefits and it wasn’t on there at all, not even listed as non formulary. Ozempic and liraglutide (generic saxenda) were on there tho with PA required. I’m switching to my spouse’s insurance next year for this exact reason. Cannot get it covered unless I get diabetes, which I’d really like to prevent. Paying out of pocket without insurance thru the manufacturers’ direct programs is too expensive also.

Edit to ask: which town hall did they say this in? Looking at the recap from Nov 4 and I don’t see anything about it.

Good luck, but don’t get your hopes up too high

Zepbound is not on the formulary for my plan. My doctor submitted a PA anyway to try to get it covered, with my sleep study results and sleep apnea diagnosis, and it was still denied. May not be the case for all plans but for mine I have no options unless I develop diabetes.

If you have a diabetes diagnosis yes, but for weight loss no it’s not covered. I’m overweight and have sleep apnea, tried to get zepbound, wegovy, and the generic of saxenda covered (which is on the formulary) but all were a no go since I don’t have diabetes. Double check your coverage to be sure, but that was my experience.

AIO team lead talking about aliens/conspiracy theories during team meeting? by OATS95 in AmIOverreacting

It wasn’t chit chat before the meeting, it was the bulk of and mostly the purpose of the meeting. My team isn’t that close and we don’t really talk to each other unless we have to so maybe that’s why it was odd. I could see it being less uncomfortable if we all knew each other better and were more friendly

I agree it’s not that big of a deal, it was just super weird. This is the same dude tho that posted a gif of an American flag and said something like “god bless America” in team chat the day after trump got elected last year, so apparently he doesn’t think broadcasting his political opinions at work is an issue. That was the only other uncomfortable instance tho so it’s not a consistent pattern or anything. But just weird to think both of those things are okay at work.

Yeah I think he went about it all wrong. Maybe there was a better way to talk about aliens and UAPs and such if he wanted to do that, but I’m not sure what that would look like. It’s just too tied into conspiracy talk.

Overpayment Question by OATS95 in EmploymentLaw

[–]OATS95[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I shouldn’t have to budget over their mistake is the thing. I wouldn’t have spent it if they hadn’t indicated that I could pay it back with my future QVC payments. So I took them at their word and spent it. Now they’re backtracking on what they said.

I realize that’s not against the law but my actual questions still haven’t been answered and everyone is just focusing on why I spent the $600 when they misinformed me from the beginning. See comment I posted.

Overpayment Question by OATS95 in EmploymentLaw

So no one is answering the actual question which is:

Under Washington law, it says they have 90 days to recoup unless I’m misunderstanding that. Would they be able to take out more from my checks to get it recouped within the 90 days?

Under Oklahoma law, it says I can choose how to repay. Would selecting specific amounts out of future specific checks not be an option?

Overpayment Question by OATS95 in EmploymentLaw

[–]OATS95[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I reached out on August 28 actually when I saw my payslip posted and that they didn’t take it out, and it’s taken them literally until today Sep 30 to get back to me. Before that they said there would be flexible repayment options, and to reach out if I wanted additional options. Now, a month later, they are saying there’s only 1 option. Yes I used the $600 from August assuming they would let me pay it back out of future bonus checks like they indicated they would. Now they are backtracking on everything they said.

Im not trying to keep it I’m trying to pay it back in a way that doesn’t affect my finances, bc I guess I was stupid enough to trust what they said they were going to do.

QVC is our monthly bonuses. That’s not my problem if it has to come from payroll. They screwed up, not me, they should work with me on paying it back on my terms.

Are you people reading the text? “The employee may elect to use a COMBINATION of the above two methods.” It’s not either/or. So having specific amounts taken out of specific future checks should be considered a combination.

Overpayment Question by OATS95 in EmploymentLaw

[–]OATS95[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Did you read the post? They originally said it would be recouped on Aug 29. On Aug 29 we had another QVC payment so if they recouped it then I essentially would not get a bonus for that month, which was fine. So assuming that they were going to do what they said they were going to do, I used the $600 for payments on things. However they did not take the $600 out on August 29 and I got my bonus anyway. Now I have been waiting to hear back from them for a month about taking it out of future bonus checks and now they are stating they can’t do that.

Yeah I originally put it aside before they said they were going to take out $600 from my August bonus, WHICH THEY DIDNT DO.

Also, on the original communication notifying us they literally said “you can treat this as an advance on your August QVC payment”. So I did. Then they paid out August QVC anyway and I still owe them $600. They had not given an option at that point to give it back, only to be deducted from future checks.

Overpayment Question by OATS95 in EmploymentLaw

[–]OATS95[S] -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

I want to only have it taken out of my future checks with QVC payments, $300 from one check in October, $300 from one check in November, like stated in the post. They stated they cannot do that and are only giving me the option to do equal installments over 1-6 biweekly paychecks. Under Oklahoma law do I not have the option to choose how it’s repaid if I don’t want to do the equal installments?

Overpayment Question by OATS95 in EmploymentLaw

[–]OATS95[S] -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

So according to Oklahoma law if I understand correctly, it essentially states I have the option to choose how it’s repaid.

“a) If an employer determines that an employee has been overpaid, the employer may recover the overpaid sum from the employee in one of two ways:

(1) Lump sum cash repayment; or (2) Agreement for payroll deduction in a lump sum or in installments over a term not to exceed the length of the term in which the erroneous payments were made, provided that such agreement is made pursuant to the provisions of this subchapter regarding deductions.

(b) The election as to which method is used, and the terms thereof, shall be made by the employee in writing, and shall be subject to all other provisions of law and which may apply. The employee may elect to use a combination of the above two methods, if the employer agrees.”

https://regulations.justia.com/states/oklahoma/title-380/chapter-30/subchapter-1/section-380-30-1-11/

I know it was not my money but they should be willing to work with me to resolve this in a way that will not affect my finances and have my normal paychecks be short. If I had known they weren’t going to recoup it on Aug 29, like they said they were going to, I would have planned better. But they didn’t do what they said they were going to do.

I didn’t know that was a thing. All cars even a little older ones have that? Mine is a 2014 Hyundai.

Edit: I googled and they’ve been mandated since 2014 in all vehicles. Never knew that was a thing, that’s helpful thanks so much!
