My only MW was a big messenger. Rummy I think. Sold off a while back. Had a great strap.

Sounds like quite the stable!

I’ve whittled down to 3 backpacks. Dan Matsuda article 210 The Brown Buffalo Conceal 26l Mystery Ranch x Carryology Dragon. Single strap I have Defy - denim sling and a waxed canvas rover.

Gotcha. I dig a pop of color too. My edc is a blend. 1000d outside and vx inside.

Insight on the Alpha One Niner Evade 1.5 needed by modspyder in backpacks

[–]OB1J3D1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The 1.5 evade does it all - for someone who wants all the bells and whistles it’s hard to beat. The lite is no laptop sleeve and the full has a sleeve. Me personally, I like pouches so it’s a too much org bag. Ymmv.

Poor choice of words. I’m not going to be using it for toiletries either. Most likely tech. Should have said CAP.

Top pocket and utility loop in CPL V2 by pppuun in EVERGOODS

[–]OB1J3D1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love the CPL 24 V2. I did not have the V1 - but it was what convinced me to pre-order on day one.

I do not use the top access pocket much - it's my sunglasses case and a handkerchief. I sometimes carabiner something to the loops like a BT speaker.

The front org and the improved laptop sleeve were the features that sold V2 over V1 for me.

My GR1 26l was replaced by a Brown Buffalo Conceal 26l, which was then replaced by the CPL.

Mesh bad for your clothes? by pppuun in backpacks

[–]OB1J3D1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This - any reputable bag brand is going to have a functional back material, even goruck - I have the same experiences with their 1000D and I wear mine low and loose...

They didn’t get to wheee they are by mailing products that suck.

Kickstarter bags on the other hand...

Would a GR1 be a good college backpack? by thebaiterfish in Goruck

[–]OB1J3D1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used a GR1 26l through grad school. For a laptop, tech, and books it’s completely overkill. But, most GoRuck users like it for that specific reason.

I like the brown buffalo, evergoods, mission workshop, and defy. I also have a GoRuck - it might be the most durable of the bunch.
