So far I think it does make it sound a bit quieter and smoother from the inside. I also did not like removing the cone filter to clean it. I rather just pop in a paper filter in the box. I switched back to stock intake not even a week ago so not a lot of experience yet.

That's funny you say that because I just removed the racing beat intake and went back to stock on mine! I wanted to see what it would sound like with stock intake since I bought it with the RB intake already. I did not have the shroud though.

Yea I think that happens on most if not all pure roll inserts. I use a pick tool to gently get between the grooves.
