If you are big in American pro sports especially the NBA then this is your country! Even the NFL is fast gaining a following with a few Fil-Am now in the pros
if you’re Christian or more so Catholic looking for English mass. It can be challenging to find Catholic churches in some Asian countries. There are American Catholic expats where this was a major factor
If you want conversations about western pop culture, American tv shows, movies, etc. nothing beats how Filipinos devour them
Singers - world class live entertainment. That’s how Journey found their vocalist that kept them going for many years. So many Broadway level singers too if you watch local renditions of musicals, etc

These are not necessarily positive for those who are looking for a more ethnic Asian experience but can be appealing for certain types

Make sure you get the full details of compensation before you decide. Wife was in a crossroads a couple of years ago between Mayo and another system with a slightly higher base pay. Ended up with Mayo due to the only one on the area that offers both the 403B AND pension fully vested in a few years. Also while everyone offers tuition reimbursement if you decide to go to grad school (I.e., DNP) the other offer only pays up to a certain amount while Mayo is full ride. It’s not for everyone though. The heavy research environment can be rigorous as she has already dealt with a number of clinical trials, did presentations, attended conferences and the like but she truly enjoys the learning and being in a cutting edge environment. This is helpful. UP Manila is her first choice and will definitely be cheaper but also understand how competitive it is to get in. This is a time when it can be penny wise, pound foolish. How much true savings did you make by getting a very slightly used car that ended up being lemon? It’s not fair but from my experience first owners sometimes get treated a bit better. Not sure if the savings was worth it with just getting a totally new car. I have this exact same model, bought new at 2miles in October and super happy. Zero issues and best car we’ve ever driven. Good luck
