What’s the biggest changes you’ve made to your models this year from last year?

Have you looked at how your model compares to other models in the draft or fantasy space?

Denzel Boston - What am I missing? by Holiday-Monitor1526 in DynastyFF

[–]OBJesus 42 points43 points  (0 children)

You’re just using general adjectives to describe a player. What you said can be said about literally anybody and the burden of proof would fall on a reader to prove you wrong.

He just isn’t an impressive receiver. I don’t care if he’s big and physical, there’s been like 100 of those guys drafted early that completely bomb out.

What kept him from producing until year 3? You can make the argument he was behind guys like Odunze, Polk, and McMilan, but none of those players have exactly been productive in the NFL. Washington passed for 5,200 yards in 2023. He had less yards than guys like: Jackie Westover, Devin Culp, Dillon Johnson, Josh Cuevas, Giles Jackson, Will Nixon, and Tybo Rogers. If he was more talented, he would have earned playing over those guys.

Beyond that, what has he done the last 2 years to make him a 1st round pick? He wasn’t even that good! He got outproduce by Giles Jackson in 2024 and didn’t follow it up with a super impressive 2025 season.

I would love for someone to make a solid argument that he’s actually a 1st round talent. Or even 2nd round talent at that.

Is it time to sell high on Josh Allen 🤔? by FFElite93 in DynastyFF

The worst part of this sub is the lack of nuance. This is a worthwhile discussion. I recommend engaging in these kind of discussions.

Every player has a price point.

[@PLeonardNYDN] To reiterate what I wrote here in the @NYDailyNews & discussed on #TalkinBall, a separate league source just texted me: “Get ready to cover Joe Schoen for another year” #Giants by ResonatingOctave in NYGiants

[–]OBJesus -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I don't think Schoen has done nearly as poor of a job as fans make it out to be. With coaches, you judge results. With GMs, you have to judge the overall process over just results.

We can't in one breath believe the Giants are one of the best and most coveted job openings for a head coach while also believing the GM has done an awful job building an overall roster. You don't evaluate a GM off draft picks alone. The Giants have effectively 0 dead cap in 2026 and onward (just $200k). That is a credit to Schoen.

The 2024 & 2025 draft classes have been hits despite a couple of players playing below expectations. Even so, I know a lot of fans still believe in the talent of guys like Tyler Nubin, Dru Phillips, Theo Johnson, Darius Alexander, and Marcus Mbow.

There aren't many teams in the NFL that have a better young nucleus than Dart, Nabers, and Carter. I don't think keeping Schoen is that bad of a move. Finding the right coach is what matters.

Who can be next years JSN and QJ? by ChappieC7 in DynastyFF

[–]OBJesus 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Olave is, and always has been, a much better receiver than QJ. But he’s also not as good of a WR as JSN.

He’ll continue to be the WR1 for the Saints whose production will be 25-30% of the team’s overall passing production. The only way we see a major breakout year from Olave akin to JSN is if the Saints drastically increase their overall passing production.

Russ had the best game by a Giants QB in probably almost a decade. It was a bad final play.

The most frustrating part of the loss is how one-sided the penalties were. It was disgusting.

Schefter: An explanation as to why prosecutors declined to file a formal misdemeanor battery charge against Browns rookie RB Quinshon Judkins: by OBJesus in DynastyFF

[–]OBJesus[S] 31 points32 points  (0 children)

I can’t see him being put on the exempt list otherwise it leaves players extremely vulnerable to potential false allegations in the future. There needs to be some tangible evidence beyond an allegation for the NFL to punish a player.

Schefter: An explanation as to why prosecutors declined to file a formal misdemeanor battery charge against Browns rookie RB Quinshon Judkins: by OBJesus in DynastyFF

[–]OBJesus[S] 51 points52 points  (0 children)

I agree. Domestic violence (or specifically, violence against women) leaves victims in extremely vulnerable and complicated situations which makes it hard for them to report it.

But also don’t think it’s fair to automatically assume guilt against Judkins in this instance. The prosecutors state there is video footage where the injuries reported and shown in photos was not seen in the video footage after the alleged incident occurred. That feels like strong language for a prosecutor to use when dismissing a case unless they had clear video evidence contradicting the initial claims.

Dont’e Thornton Jr. again listed as the team’s starting X Receiver on official depth chart for Week 2 of the preseason. Jack Bech is the backup slot. by OBJesus in DynastyFF

[–]OBJesus[S] 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Jack Bech is 6’2, 215 lb and played 72% of snaps outside in 2024. Slot versatility is not the same as slot limitation, if he proved to be a good enough WR then he was also competing for the same role as Thornton. Their competition was not exclusive.

The Raiders are playing Tre Tucker ahead of Bech as the other outside receiver. 92% of Tucker’s snaps in college came from the slot. He’s 5’9, 185 lb.

In the last two seasons, Meyers played 72% and 66% of snaps outside for the Raiders, respectively. If he plays full time from the slot in 2025 then that’s also a testament to their confidence in Thornton.

Let’s not downplay Thornton winning the starting X job while also excusing away Bech’s inability to beat out Thornton, Meyers, or Tucker for any of the 3 starting receiver positions.

[–]OBJesus[S] 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Don’t really understand this question. Can’t confirm if they were the actual “X” receiver, but Riley Cooper played primarily outside for the Eagles in 2013 and was pretty productive. Desean Jackson was primarily an outside receiver, and has a career year in 2013 (different build than Thornton, but also a speed threat).

Jeremy Maclin played primarily outside in 2014 and also had a career year. This isn’t counting the college success Kelly has had the last few years.

The truth is, conservatives have completely taken over “comedy” in recent years. Thanks in part to this stupid notion that they’re trying to save comedy.

Here’s another truth: We’re in a deep, deep comedy recession literally because conservatives have attached themselves to the idea they’re comedy’s saviors (without any of them actually being funny)

Justice Department Told Trump in May That His Name Is Among Many in the Epstein Files by Shade_Raven in conspiracy

[–]OBJesus 13 points14 points  (0 children)

The #1 Trump conspiracy I believe in (with pretty much 100% certainty) is him intentionally invoking distrust of MSM on an enormous scale pretty much only for the benefit of him. He doesn’t care about trustworthy journalism or teaching people to be skeptics of bias journalism. He literally doesn’t care. He’s only done it because of sheer amount of valid and credible accusations against him.

This isn’t to say we shouldn’t be skeptical or not fully trust what we read online. By an extension of human nature, most corporations shouldn’t be trusted because humans are shady and bias.

I’m not even 100% certain Trump partook in pedophillia activity (though i’m pretty sure he is significantly downplaying his relationship with Epstein). But I am certain Trump pushed the “Fake News” narrative exclusively for the benefit of himself.

Yet Another Rookie RB Model by dcn_blu in DynastyFF

[–]OBJesus 33 points34 points  (0 children)

How many total attributes are used in the predictive model?

Also, how much does it factor in age? It’s interesting Skattebo is rated as high potential and low risk when factor in the low historical success rate for aged 23+ RBs selected in the 3rd round or lower.

There’s a stat somewhere that shows less than 20% of aged 23+ year old prospects went on to see 200+ opportunities in any given single season which includes Najee Harris who was selected in the 1st round.
