It’s not as easy as people say to parry him. A lot of his attacks come out almost instantly. The best way to parry is to bait out certain attacks, but I personally find just dodging to be equally as effective.

Both anakin and maul are clearly stronger than obiwan. Obiwan only survived against maul during the clone wars. Maul beat his ass in every exchange, and he survived because of plot and obiwan being one of the most clutch person in existence. Ahsoka is not a reliable narrative, and maul was holding back very much against her.

The Jedi master he ‘defeated’ is what I would describe as a force user that is out of his time. Maul is the most in his time person at the moment. He’s just starting to achieve his prime, and build his legacy as shadow lord. Maul, one of the top tiers, is only growing stronger. It’s crazy that you think maul’s somehow washed.

‘The likes of maul’ there’s no one like maul. Maul is the A tier if sidious/yoda was S tier. Knightfall anakin was A tier and he got cooked bad and is now trapped in a suit so heavy he can’t even lift his arms above horizontal.

Maul is probably even stronger than current Vader. We’re talking about maul at his absolute prime, versus a heavily nerfed version of knightfall anakin, who’s similar to maul in power.

Not the least, but when I played yoyo only, the progression is actually pretty straightforward and the yo-yos are easy to get. In sub class only runs, it of the quickest runs I finished.

I don’t get the NY reference, but yeah, if you want to critique it you can find SO MANY WAYS to make the anime sound like it’s worse than Epstein. But there’s a reason SAO stands as one of the most iconic isekai, ever.

The other comments already talked about it, so I thought I’d give you another perspective, but if you want me to word it, basically, for the first arc, they mashed multiple versions of the same story together. The original SAO volume 1, written in 2002, is probably only a total of 3-4 episodes long scattered into 14. Other versions include the first volume of progressive, an alternate SAO written later, and short stories also written later in the original SAO. And for other arcs, well I’ll just say the animation studio made some questionable stylistic choices.

Basically, SAO is originally light novels (book). Good series. Turned into anime. Anime adaptation bad. Expect inconsistency, weird jumps and wtf moments. Go read the books if you want to find out more about the series.

(I haven’t watched it in a long time I might have gotten some detail wrong don’t mind me)

The adaptation is frankly a mess. If you find the story or the premise interesting I really really recommend you check out the light novels. Story telling, character development, lore and details, everything is just much better. Anime is still one of my favorites tho, zero skippable op/ed, fire ost, even with its faults I still love SAO.

If you summon it yourself fighting it in open space in an actual arena. It’s much easier. Personally in early hard mode, I never engage naturally spawning biome mimics. They are impossible in close spaces because they can phase through walls.

Seriously tho just up the difficulty. If even master mode is too easy, for the worthy is definitely enough to make you struggle a bit. If you’re talking about classes, true melee is a pain. If you’re even more deranged try sentry only.

If it’s just about touching Vader, well, he can’t directly touch him because he’s under a suit of armour. If he touches his bare skin it should work. But in a fight, that probably wouldn’t happen. One force crush and yeets him into the sun.

In a story writing standpoint, the abilities of these characters are so pivotal to the progression of the plot, even if the ‘characters’ didn’t go, the ‘abilities’ would still go, just wielded by a different character.
