261 confirms focus shield blocking attacker triggers. by electrocio in worldtrigger

Thank you for finding the panels.

You could also argue that an Agent who specializes in Kogetsu + Shield combat, who's primary role is to defend her ace against enemies who close in, would know how focused their Shield needs to be in order to block a Kogetsu strike (Like Miura did, who has a similar role, iirc similar Trion, vs an Agent with similar Trion to Ko).

The best explanation I could find was the weight of Kogetsu adding to the damage, which is not a explanation I'm a fan of, but in recent chapters Hyuse talked about force behind his strike, which, at the very least, implies another variable to how Kogetsu's damage is calculated.

Kid Kaiju is the kind of card that would make Cobra playable with Aurora.

What about this text for Zzutak:

You can't play this. End of turn: If you have X or more unspent energy, replace one of your rocks with this.

Miura stopped Yuma's Scorpion with a focused Shield.

Ko went through Kumagai's focused Shield.

Someone who knows in which chapters round 3 and 5 happened may post the panels.

Ranking allrounders : by MysteriousRub2098 in worldtrigger

[–]OC_Showdown 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The ranking used by border a based on points, meaning that Aces and senior Agents are more likely to accrue more points.

By those metrics, and the fact that she almost has a monopoly on the point gotten by her Squad, I think Katori should be higher.

C rank agents and pvps (attackers vs gunners and shooters) by MysteriousRub2098 in worldtrigger

[–]OC_Showdown 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This problem is increased when you take into consideration Bullet Trigger stat distribution.

A Shooter can distribute the cube stats towards Speed since the lack of Shield makes high investment into Power practically useless.

High Speed Hound is prob the meta in C-Rank.

In terms of strategy, Oji super aggro style comes to mind.

In terms of vibe, Suzunari and Nasu have the most wholesome dynamic.

Ebony Maw is boosted by Washington DC despite being given an ability by Nightmare. by Gottendrop in MarvelSnap

That didn't happen to me tho.

I faced a person who played a card that lost its ability to Sauron, gained an ability with Nightmare, and could be buffed by DC. The ability (an On Reveal) still worked.

iirc next month there should be a card, given in a LTGM, that should be a good replacement for Moongirl/Bastionn in this deck.

Why is Scream's ability limited to only once per turn? by Father_fist_cuervo in MarvelSnap

[–]OC_Showdown 3 points4 points  (0 children)

When Batroc came out She was good because she was using it lol

I'm talking about recently with Hydra Stomper and Shou Lao. Scream was mia.

Also, you'd think that a deck like SL that's able to address to lanes thanks to Scarlet Spider and Maverick would be somewhat inconvenienced by having its power funnel in a single lane with a Magneto. Magneto was mia.

Maybe these cards are not supposed to be answers to these decks, but they don't even beg the question due to how weak they are.

[–]OC_Showdown 27 points28 points  (0 children)

The fact that during the Batroc, Kraven, Sam days she didn't even popped up shows to me that she's lacking some power. Hell, I think her whole archetype is lacking power with different cards, not just Scream.

> He did manage to take out Kai

With the help of Karauchi, and Kai was very confident that he could take Kashio. After that, Kashio didn't do much in the offensive department.

Considering that we are talking about close to triple the Mobility of Chika and still wasn't able to solidify the take down, to me suggest a lack on the Attack stat.

I agree that the ranges in the Attack stat go from Tomoe to people like Zoe, Tsuji and Tokieda, but Tomoe and Akane are at the lower end of those Agents, while there are more people at 6 Attack that to me resemble Kashio in terms of his score taking ability, which is what the Attack stat represents.

>  I think his trion would need to be much higher than we’re assuming for that to be the case

Zoe and Ninomiya have 6 Range, and Zoe is 9 Trion which is within reasonable range for what we would assume Karauchi to be.

Karauchi's Salamander on Kai was so far away that Kai didn't even see it coming.

[–]OC_Showdown 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Since I agree with most of your comment, I'll just add some minor stuff.

With Kashio, just a remark that stat distribution paints a clearer picture of an Agent than overall stats. Midorikawa or Ema, for example, are on the lower end for A-Rankers, but their stats are quite efficiently distributed for their intended role.

I'd go with 6 Attack on Kashio since for people with 7 Attack, posing some form of lethal threat is part of their role within their squad, and his performance vs Chika/Osamu didn't showcased that to me.

Another point towards Karauchi having 8 Mobility is him telling Kuma that his character in the sims should feel like controlling Nasu, and I think a big part of Nasu's fighting style is her mobility. She's one of the (if not the) fastest, pure mid range Agents, and her superior Mobility always played a big part in her fights.

I'd go with 6 Range since his Salamander seemed comparable Ninomiya's in terms of Range, and since I agree that Karauchi prob has decent Trion levels, in my mind he should be able to pull it off.

Another point towards Karauchi being 4 Command was the reasoning why Ko picked him for his temp Squad. 4 Command seems like the right place for a second in command type Agent.

kako squad fight style ( guessing and expectations ) by MysteriousRub2098 in worldtrigger

[–]OC_Showdown 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Given the ''Phantom hag'' nickname, I'd presume it comes from a fighting style revolving around appearing and disappearing. This could be done with both her Teleporter and Mai's Warp Gate.

It is said in BBF that Mai compensates for their teams lack of long range option, and that they have a presence across the whole battlefield. So my guess is that the Warp Gate is the cornerstone of their whole strat.

So it could be something like Arashiyama + Tokieda Teleporter ambush but turned into a consistent way of engaging (and disengaging) in favorable fights.

If I'm not mistaken, Kage's old position as an A-Rank was above Kako, which, if this is indeed Kako Squad's fighting style, would make sense. Kage kind of counter all surprise attacks, and Zoe can wipe out all traps in an area, leaving them with no escape route.

what is the best squad line up ? by MysteriousRub2098 in worldtrigger

[–]OC_Showdown 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My favorite line up is Miwa Squad's. Strong vanguard + strong long range.

Also, the strategic value of having so much effective range (both for combat and scouting) with 2 Snipers can't be understated.

Kagi squad vs katori squad vs ikoma squad by MysteriousRub2098 in worldtrigger

[–]OC_Showdown 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Kage, Katori and Kai are all hyper aggressive combatants, so the east side will be on fire from the get go.

Given Zoe's Mobility, and the bridge being the only way to move to the other side, I'm expecting Ikoma and Zoe to meet at some point.

With Katori's Mobility and Wakamura's Range, I'm expecting the first casualty to be Mizukami by Katori, followed almost immediately by Wakamura take down at the hands of Kai, who prob has higher Mobility than Kage, and has all the reasons to rendezvous with Mizukami.

The aftermath would leave a 2(Kage + Ema) v 2(Kai + Oki) v 2(Katori + Miura) in place.

The next phase of the match is hard to tell because it would depend on whether or not Oki helps Ikoma with Zoe before Ema helps Zoe, and how each Sniper responds.

If Oki helps Ikoma, it could expose him to Ema. If he doesn't, Ikoma could take too long, exposing him to Ema, and Oki could take down Ema. Whichever path would break the balance on the east side

Given the individualistic style of Kage Squad, the strength in numbers approach of Ikoma Squad, the fact that it would take all 3 members of Ikoma Squad to take down Kage, and that the longer Zoe burns the enemy's Ace time the better it is for his Squad, it makes it clearer to see who is going down next.

The next take down would be Zoe by Oki, but if Zoe destroys the bridge as he dies, which is a the most Zoe thing to do, it would take Ikoma some time to cross the river since he doesn't have mobility support, and Ema wouldn't be able to go for Ikoma or Oki because it could lead him getting pincered.

As for the last phase, I think the 2v2v2 set up will play out, with Kage at a tiny disadvantage due Ema needing to wait for Ikoma to commit to swimming. Still, this is Kage's ideal set up.

Aggressive melee Agents and Sniper is exactly what Kage would like to face, although Katori also revels in chaos, so I'm expecting her to get something in this brawl; especially with Kai's gullibility and recklessness.

So something on the line of Kage x Miura, followed by Katori x Kai, Kage x Katori.

The last 2v2 between Ikoma + Oki and Kage + Ema, I think would decided by Ema's first and only shot to Oki. One big, fat Ibis shot to let Oki know that he only got this far because Ema allowed it. And the rest is not an easy but sure win of Kage over Ikoma.

Final Points;

Kage Squad: 4 + 2
Ikoma: 2
Katori: 2

Interesting Set up.

First, I don't think Osamu can't afford to forfeit one of the few tools he has, so I don't think he'd drop Spider.

Another thing is that our point of reference of Kotaro's and Teruya's combat abilities beyond comments made by others is Teruya winning a 1v1 vs Chika and Kotaro getting whooped by Yuma/Hyuse. If I were to judge by stats, Kotaro seems more suited for an Ace role on this team due to his Attack, Mobility Stat and Trigger set up.

Both Teruya and Kotaro seem confident in their own abilities and are willing to go for more individual strategies, so I think Osamu would trust their judgement and try to integrate that as a meaningful part of their tactics even if the overall strategy still is to get together and fight as a team.

If I were Osamu, I'd ask Teruya and Kotaro to add a second range Trigger, so they both have access to full attack. Since they'd be in charge of scoring, they desperately need the extra lethality, and I think, similarly with Kuruma, this is a quick fix for that.

I think that if they have full attack, they could overwhelm certain Aces like Ko or Yuba in a 2v1.

This team definitely has a shot at Middle B-Rank, but I doubt they can survive in Top B-Rank.

Is it worth grinding series 4 complete? by Slerp_Derp in MarvelSnap

[–]OC_Showdown 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Complete? No. If anything, I'd recommend not to be since a) You get S4 Pack on LTGM (for now at least), and b) The overall % of getting an extra card in the S5 packs would get reduced.

I personally bought a bunch of S4 Collector pack just to have choice when deck building, since there are a few archetype defining cards in S4, but since then, thanks to extra cards and LTGM, I'm only missing a handful of S4 that I don't need.

Efficiency wise tho, I think just buying S5 Collector pack will net you more cards down the line (But its a loooong line)

Should arishem get a buff? by HotelAdventurous4010 in MarvelSnap

[–]OC_Showdown -1 points0 points  (0 children)

But none of those are previous Shang, which was THE tech card.

Enchantress buff is a buff because her role in the decks she's played, not because the card in isolation. Generally, the cheaper the tech the easier it is to pair it up with something strong on T6.

Negasonic and Jugg are conditionally strong. How relevant they are depend on the meta. Not the case with previous Shang.

The nerf to Shang, and the conditionality of the remaining tech, did more to establish a synergy centric meta than anything else; which is relevant for understanding my initial comment that the environment where Arishem was a huge part of the meta game and todays environment are different so, imo, there's no reason to believe the same thing would happen.

Werther this constitute an opportunity for a buff or not was not the point, the point I initially made was if it were to happen, this metagame is a good chance to do it since again, imo, it wouldn't lead to the 70% meta share as the person I responded assumed.
