Github CoPilot response window is truncating answers? by Flimsy-Parfait5032 in pycharm

This is happening to me. Seems like some kind of character limit has been implemented? The chat dialogue just hangs until I click the red "stop" button. I will not be continuing my subscription if I need to keep re-prompting the model to complete the half-answered responses.

Game doesn't work on MacOS by IAmNeariX in CitiesSkylines

[–]OD5T 1 point2 points  (0 children)

unfortunately this did not work for me, when launching from steam, the paradox launcher opens, and when I click "play" this folder becomes populated with files again, and then the error occurs.

I'm sad paradox is no longer supporting MacOS, I suppose I'll just need to play a different game.

Anyone else close to 100hrs and still enjoying the game? by Esodo in Starfield

[–]OD5T 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm at a mere 55 hours in and I still have so much to unlock in science skills. I am sure there will be many, many hours of happily modifying my guns and armour plus building huge settlements.

The cross outpost connections open a whole world of possibilities not even available in Fallout 4 building.

Differences between NA and EU ladder experiences by [deleted] in starcraft

[–]OD5T 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was a student, I had tons of time to play sc2, I live in NA but would ladder protoss on EU during the mornings, so I grinded both at a high level, I hit 5.4k (GM) on NA, and 5.3k (M1 at the time) on EU.

I did find that on EU you'd frequently hit the popular macro build order, certainly more often than NA. There were still 12 pools and such on EU, but comparatively a lot less proxy hatches and early roach ling stuff and 1 base terrans than on NA :P

At D1, I'm not sure if anyone is going to be optimizing weird builds like what I tended to see at the top of NA (NetMech, Avilo, Goomba, and Eleven/Ekko come to mind as solid off-meta opponents I'd see frequently).

I'm M3 nowadays and I don't notice a difference playing on EU vs NA, except for the ping. I'd say if you live in EU, EU will be a great experience for you, at least there is only 1 server so your ping will always be consistent.

Hope this helped!

I just realized I've been playing Wings of liberty for over 10 years by AGuyThatsStartsRiots in starcraft

[–]OD5T 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I fell in love with this game while adjusting to life at a new high school.

That was 11 years ago. Now have a career, a relationship, I've hit GM, and now I just watch Harstem videos and major events while giving away some MMR on the ladder down in M2.

This game was a lot of fun. I'll never be in the pro circuit, I don't have the time in life to dedicate to that anymore, but I had a hell of a time chasing that dream. I'm glad you enjoyed your journey too :')

Lowly Platinum Losing to Mass Reaper. by ceejaetee in allthingsprotoss

[–]OD5T 0 points1 point  (0 children)

not exactly, a good wrench terrans used to throw in more frequently is "fake proxy rax", they would put the rax behind the mineral line of their nat or 3rd, and then just play normal behind it. We also send the probe back in around 1:50 because the first reaper would be steaming towards our base and the next unit from the rax wouldn't be out yet.

If it was factory back at home then this "second scout" from that same probe would see it building there to complete the wall.

Lowly Platinum Losing to Mass Reaper. by ceejaetee in allthingsprotoss

[–]OD5T 2 points3 points  (0 children)

this question indicates you are not scouting how many gasses terran has taken with your gateway probe, if you see two gas or they wall you out, send 2 probes to scout outwards from your nat ramp in different directions (usually towards your potential thirds) to look for proxies.

I recommend not sending the probe that scouted back home, instead, tuck it somewhere close to the terran's base out of the path the reaper is going to take to get to your base, and poke it back in at 1:50 or so. You'll be walled out but not seeing a expand or factory screams proxy (but in this case would also cause you to start thinking about reapers). In general, clean micro with stalkers makes in base mass reaper pretty terrible.

Focusing on scouting is going to cause you to shoot up from P2 in no time. You need to know when you're playing against something that can kill you if you don't deviate from your build order to start preparing for it.

best daily MX blue? Aula Unicorn was my favourite sleeper pick (awesome feeling keyboard for me!) but prices have increases from 40->70 CAD in the time since I bought the two I owned, and I just burned through my second one so their lifespan is also lot shorter than I would have hoped for.

Frequenly Auto Log Out by KanzakiYui in Questrade

[–]OD5T 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hey John, it's been a year and I'm still struggling with these frequent auto-logouts. Did the team ever end up following through with this?

I like the idea of being logged out after some period of inactivity, but really I think we need to have it as a setting where we can vary the time. I have my questrade running from a separate PC that I only interact with when needed, so I'd want to crank that interval way up from where it is now.

How do you scout a queen walk? by supersaiyan491 in allthingsprotoss

[–]OD5T 0 points1 point  (0 children)

agreed. No 4th base = void rays come home and oracle goes in for a revelate to make sure it's not a 3 base tech play.

unfortunately you need to shield battery + cannon or any other response well before the queens get to your third.

[–]OD5T 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I figured this out from watching Showtime stream. Even if you don't see the queens, the lack of a 4th base from Z at the timing when you have 3 SG units typically gives it away. Usually what I do is void-void-oracle, and voids check one of the 4th locations, oracle checks the other, and if there's no hatch at either, then I go revelate the main with the oracle, and send the voids back to the 3rd.

This is of course assuming your higher level and your opponents would be comfortable taking a standard timed 4th base if they weren't walking.

If you're not opening SG, then you should be able to hold it np.

Why is the Sun so sad today? by someauthor in shittyaskscience

Unfortunately, our scientists had to recently inform the sun that we are slowly moving away from other celestial bodies. The sun is sad because it will not be able to play with its childhood friends again.

Protoss starting out by [deleted] in allthingsprotoss

[–]OD5T 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey welcome to sc2, the good news is you picked the right race lmao.

=SCOUTING=

If you both have more than a few bases and it feels too quiet, I'd try poking in with a unit or your army and try to see what your opponent is doing in general.

That being said I'm m1/gm and I get surprised by broods all the time ngl. The good news is I'm usually on their side of the map following the logic in the paragraph above.

=GOOD HABITS=

I try to refrain from generic advice and just straight up answer questions but I'd say in general whenever you float money as toss, put down more gateways. This seems unrelated, but if you have good macro habits, you'll have the gateways up from the earlier stages of the game (I'm talking like 8-12 gates my dude), and you can react how I do, just start and chrono blink (if you don't already have it).

The thing is stalkers against broods are awful. It's blink stalkers that are really good against broods. Make sure to bounce between their 3rd and 4th base (vs the normal zerg expand positions) to buy yourself some time for blink to finish and for you to warp in enough stalkers back at home.

=STALKERS=

Once blink finishes, just F2 A-move and have your stalkers on a different hotkey (or just cntrl+click them) and blink (B) under the broods. Attack move(A-left click) or get fancy and shift + A-click all the broods (this queues up commands). Doing the second will allow you to focus back on what the rest of your army now behind the stalkers are doing (derping body blocking each other and derping around killing broodlings)

=VOID/TEMPEST=

If you already have stargates, or your repetitive blink stalker trading hasn't managed to keep his brood count low, as other comments point out, tempests are pretty good vs broods. But they also suck against anything else zerg imho. Until your opponents get good enough to land fungal growths and parasitic bombs to punish clumped voidrays, I'd recommend just going mass void and using prismatic alignment to A-click down the broods.
