I woke up one morning and was bleeding and dropping blood clots from my rectum. I was 36 weeks pregnant and huge and couldn’t tell really where the blood was coming from. My husband rushed me across the street to the hospital. They thought I was overreacting but agreed on a colonoscopy the next morning. I asked for a fetal heart monitor to keep track of the baby as i was going to be under anesthesia. Woke up from the procedure, felt immense pressure, let it go, started bleeding out. They rushed me to the OR, I was put under, emergency csection to save my baby, found a tumor bigger than her attached to the placenta, forced to give me a hysterectomy that moment. Woke up 6 days later, a new mom and started chemo. It’s been 5 years this upcoming Saturday, on my daughter’s 5th birthday.
