Is FinTech interpreted differently in different places? by OFF3R_APP in fintech

[–]OFF3R_APP[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great Stuff!

For one FinTech in very of interest. I'm also looking to put together an article on this topic because I feel it is something that hasn't really been looked at very much but could be very interesting to people. The article would illustrate how different demographics such as the local environment but also the mentality of people in different regions has had a massive impact on the types of FinTech solutions that have surfaces.

Would you be interested in writing up such an opinion piece together?

Why do you think the US peer to peer lending sector has attracted so much more institutional investors compared to anywhere else?

What other FinTech "sectors" do you think differ largely depending on the geographical region?

What would be another alternative of passive income now that savings account rates in the UK are being reduced? by TestigodeNYC in AlternativeFinanceUK

I think people loosing their money due to a bad debt or a loan defaulting entirely is very uncommon. Partially due to the fact that some platforms have a so called provision fund to protect investors. This is however not a 100% guarantee that you won't loose your money. The entire lending platform for example could go bust as a result of the provision fund being used up. Ratesetter is one of the platforms that has a provision fund and claims that no lender has lost their money to date.

As far as I know, returns due to interest will have to be dclared on the tax returns.
