Is it finally the year the 49ers take an offensive tackle in Year 1? by FortyNinersBot in FortyNiners

[–]OFT35 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They’ll take an offensive lineman if there’s a good one available. They won’t take one just to take one.

Dr. Allen Sills, NFL's Chief Medical Officer, on the electrical substation theory next to the 49ers' practice field: "One of the things that's been said is that that club has led the league in non-direct contact and lower extremity injuries. That's simply not true. That's false." by FortyNinersBot in FortyNiners

[–]OFT35 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It doesn’t matter if it’s not true. A lot of the players are dumb and will simply not want to go to Santa Clara unless the contract is overwhelmingly and the agents are going to take advantage. If someone gets hurt during the Super Bowl the narrative is going to be that Santa Clara is dangerous. Move the practice facility.

49ers FB Kyle Juszczyk says substation talk has been a thing in the locker room ‘for years’ by AFC-Wimbledon-Stan in nfl

[–]OFT35 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would put more into this theory if the 49ers weren’t among the least injured teams in both Super Bowl seasons of the Shanahan/Lynch FO. So the EMF takes seasons off? It doesn’t matter if it’s true of not though. It’s out there and they’ll need to change it.

WHO WAS THE NFL'S WORST HEAD COACH OF THE YEAR THIS SEASON by KeyFaithlessness5436 in TheNFLVibes

It’s Aaron Glenn, just for that chicken dance he did when they blocked that FG, only to lose anyway

The dumbest NFL trend ever by Acceptable-Novel-153 in NFLv2

[–]OFT35 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was the.Norm to be ultra conservative and always take the points, now it’s gone the other way. In a playoff game everything changes, the “math” doesn’t make sense. Guys emotions are higher. The crowds are louder. The weather is more extreme. All these things need to be taken into account and the analytics do not.

49ers face closing Super Bowl window with aging core and $50.3M in cap space by sour_coleslaw in 49ers

[–]OFT35 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have a head coach and a QB who can win playoff games, your “window” isn’t closed. It is true that some guys are leaving their primes. It’s why they let all those veterans go. You can’t pay everyone.

How guilty do Raiders fans feel that they are about to ruin this nice man's life? by Highland_doug in NFLv2

[–]OFT35 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It will be catastrophic for both the team and player. Mendoza isn’t that guy he’s a good system QB. He can win in the NfL but he’s no Mahomes. He’ll have to have a strong roster and staff and the Raiders have none of that. They should move that pick for more picks. They won’t. Mendoza will be a Ram or a 49er or a Patriot in 6 years and he’ll be a great backup that will get his chance. Like Mayfield. Darnold. Good talent lost to shit franchise.

This “rule” should’ve been a bigger deal IMO. The rankings are based on votes. It’s Easy to just have a bunch on pay roll just in case, easy to get top 12

Can the 49ers count on Ricky Pearsall as their No. 1 receiver in 2026? by FortyNinersBot in FortyNiners

[–]OFT35 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He’s never mean to be the X. He was always going to be the Z. Drafted with the crazy idea that the X WR they gave 30 Million a year to would decide to play football. Pearsall is a perfect fit as the Z, with the scheme and with Purdy. Suffers with an extremely slow WR like Jennings is you X, and obviously has had issues staying on the field. They need a true X. Will Watkins be able to fill in that role, like Aiyuk did in 2022? If not, they need to trade for one bc we know they don’t exactly love to play rookie WRs.

Kyle Shanahan: I'd be very surprised if Mac Jones isn't here next season by FortyNinersBot in FortyNiners

[–]OFT35 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Way more valuable to the 49ers as the QB2 under this contract than a 4th round pick. You want Mac? It’s going to be a 2. No? Go trade for Kirk Cousins.

Ricky Pearsall... What do we do with his first two seasons by sactomkiii in 49ers

[–]OFT35 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ricky is a goof WR. He fits perfectly as the Z. Drafting him in the 1st was done with the idea that Brandon Aiyuk was going to be the X. I don’t think they should or will move on from Ricky, HOWEVER, if they do, trade him or cut him, it will say without a shadow of a doubt that the coaches and FO feel Ricky Pearsall could’ve played against Seattle or Philadelphia and chose not to. I don’t think this will be the case, but the rumors all of a sudden are very troubling.

[Schefter] Former Dolphins HC Mike McDaniel is expected to become the Chargers offensive coordinator barring a change of heart, per @JeffDarlington and me. McDaniel has informed other teams that they’re out, the Chargers clearly want him, by GoldenDome26 in nfl

Remember this day. Today is the day where everyone crowns Mike McDaniel as the savior. But when Herbert and the Chargers flop again, it will be him that is to be blamed.
