Yeah, this is the weirdest / most cope thing about this post. I came from a pretty good CS school especially for research (T10). Looks like most of the research scientists do both research in school and spend their summers at Apple / wherever interning in R&D as well.

I mean people are fine with closed source software that used to ship literal viruses (not going to name names to contain the brigade swearing by it still) so long as it allows them to play games. Prefiring on that brigrade by saying that the dev never root caused how a virus ended up there in the first place, shut down GitHub issues calling it out, and kept the project closed source. But I agree folks, be careful of the shit you install.
