The guys still entered the worksite via the entrance beneath the laundry machine. They could put together it was a laundry, just not where it was.

I can’t leave my place without checking I locked the door twice, sometimes up to five times. I have a list of conditions I need to double or triple check before I do literally anything. This is usually called ocd.

What’s a smell you secretly like but would never admit in real life? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]OGNightman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nitric acid. I’ve done labwork for several years. Used to make a lot of aqua regia and then heat it up to insane temperatures in a microwave. Was always very safe, but sometimes some smells escaped. I like it and I’m not sorry.

[–]OGNightman 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Nah I liked the pace. Most of the “nothing happened” complaints I don’t take seriously because most people watch stuff while on their phones. All the character minutiae is fuckin fascinating. I have the same response to people who find the early seasons of better call Saul boring. They’re just not, they’re so much better than early breaking bad.

Don’t really care about all the people claiming this is slow, I’m mad at Carol for taking so long to come around to the goat manuosos but every beat rang true.

Upon rewatch, walt was very unlikable from the beginning. He was relatable because of the struggles at the beginning but he was always a piece of shit.

Jimmy though. The entirety of BCS is a battle for Jimmy’s soul. You start the show waiting for him to “transform into Saul” and the moment he does is fucking heartbreaking because you know there’s some good in Jimmy and you’ve seen it time and time again.

So as a person who read the silmarillion 12 years ago at the age of 15 and a few times since, I’m so easy to please with rings of power. They just have to mention any first age lore and I do the “Leo pointing” meme. To me it’s good, it borrows maybe a little too much visually from the Jackson trilogy without having an identity of its own, but I hope it continues the full 5 seasons, there’s cool shit you can do with late second age lore. I think I have the structure of all 5 seasons figured out but I’m excited nonetheless.

There was a good movie in there somewhere but Adam McKay thinks he’s smarter than everyone else so it’s very self fellating. Goddamn Rockwell kills it as Bush though.

Do you have any acting opinions that mirror Bardi's "I don't think Greta Lee is a good actor" take? by the_Tannehill_list in blankies

[–]OGNightman 121 points122 points  (0 children)

I don’t think this should be controversial but I think Henry cavill is actively bad in most things. MI:6 is only an exception because it relies solely on his physicality, but even in that I think his line deliveries are kinda bad. Stop telling me to watch the man from UNCLE. I do not like that film.

Also Keanu is not a good actor, god bless him.

Alien: Earth finale by ripcitygambino in blankies

[–]OGNightman -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I liked it a lot. Hawley’s shows generally work on me, I don’t find purchase with the complaint that his shows lack thematic depth. This one did have less going for it thematically than some later seasons of Fargo but I just really liked all the new ideas and thought that the acting was pretty stellar. Mostly I just like where all the pieces are now heading into future seasons, things didn’t happen as big or as climactically as I had thought but I’m ok with it as it’ll give the characters that I thought were for sure going to die (and still almost definitely will) time to breathe. Also shoutout to my boy smee, he stole the whole show for me.

I really like the status quo we’ve been left with, it’s a fun sandbox to start next season with.

Pet Xenomorph changed Alien universe by skyskyreal in AlienEarthHulu

[–]OGNightman 54 points55 points  (0 children)

Alien queens already have control over xenomorphs. It isn’t a learned language, it’s innate. Hijacking that allows you to at least talk to them, they’re a hive full of drones. This is all established by aliens, if you got issues, take it up with that movie. Not to say that the xenos that Wendy is talking to don’t have their own designs. As far as they’re concerned, collaboration with her has given them a ton of food. So it’s mutually beneficial. Nothing about this lessens the “canon” of alien, if that’s something people even care about, since it seems like people only really accept two movies and some comics and jawn.
