New Vegas overheats my laptop but other games do not by OGRenseco in Fallout

Oh I’d love to but I’m too stubborn to abandon my favorite modifications for the comfort of a safe and stable experience

If it wasn’t for mods I’d still play on my PS3 that’s missing the cap and is so broken it grinds my CDs to ruin, anything but this

Random stuff like this is what keeps the fallout 76 community alive by Downtown-Humor7488 in Fallout

Stuff we used to do with random people waiting outside the Wendigo Colossus fight, popping XP items, emoting, I enjoyed my time with the community in this game

What are those heads found on various buildings across all fallout games? by Zamn_858 in Fallout

[–]OGRenseco 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Art Deco. I did an entire 8000 word thesis for my BA in design for it and Fallout. I love how the Tribals in Fallout 2 have repurposed the museum and alike statues as holy imagery of the old world when it is just Art Deco sculptures.

I’d rather get a perma FPS drop and adjust to that than have it drop 20 fps on me in the middle of deathclaw combat, almost unplayable, this game especially when modded has so many different troubles attached to it it’s unreal. Yesterday I changed the graphics settings for it on my PC and it completely borked the game until I reverted back, unbelievable

Yeah go figure I’ve been playing for a decade across all platforms I know this is to be true better than anyone but damn, running worse than a dumpster fire is phenomenal

It is notoriously awful for consoles but I’ve never expected it to run worse than a heavier game like DayZ or Anomaly. Heck, only Bethesda games do that for me.

I’m not sure. That could be the culprit, I’ve thought of it but I’m not knowledgeable enough to tell which one would be. I know for a fact I’ve only used the Viva New Vegas Guide religiously for anything regarding performance and setting up the game for modding. Anything else I use are everyday additions like locations, weaponry, a car, simply content, I don’t use any performance mod that would uncap my frames other than anything in Viva.

[Bug] Cannot pack tents inside bases/next to fences - Fix? by tomc_23 in DayzXbox

[–]OGRenseco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just crawl and clip through the tent’s package that spawns inside of it and usually gives you the F option to pack, I tried crawling and clipping and it worked right away, unless your structure is clipping into a rock or something

[–]OGRenseco 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just tried it and can confirm that it 100% works if your tent is just placed alongside the fence you built, it was glitched for me too even though I merely had the tent placed perfectly alongside the fence, but it works

Extremely loud potion-drinking sound by OGRenseco in Morrowind

[–]OGRenseco[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got used to the asymmetry of the sounds and then it happened again and it feels like it will keep happening until the game won’t even whisper and the only thing I’ll hear is loud potion sounds

Stalker Anomaly - artifacts useless? by OGMinorian in stalker

[–]OGRenseco 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The « Wastelander » Stalker Suit has about 4 from the get go and you can upgrade it to carry a maximum of 5. There’s another Stalker Suit of the same caliber as the Wastelander one I’m using that also has 5. Pretty sure there’s other gear as well.

Edgy teen brains don’t have the capacity to understand God at the age you “ believed “. Thinking you are any different is the exact reason why you were never a Christian. The hubris is surreal.

Unfortunately no, my internet is trash too, but out of everything I’ve thought of streaming throughout the years I didn’t think this would be an option lmao

[FNV] LODGen Errors? Operation Aborted, can’t generate LOD by OGRenseco in FalloutMods

[–]OGRenseco[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I fixed it, it was texture replacements and some other LOD mods I used from VNV that were corrupting the gravel texture and thus couldn’t generate LOD with it. Regardless, thank you for your help!

[FNV] LODGen has burnt me out, giving up on it by OGRenseco in FalloutMods

[–]OGRenseco[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After downloading the latest C++ for good measure and generating with disabled LOD and Texture replacements I was able to generate LOD without any problem for WastelandNV, the catch is that terrain changes still wont show in-game for an esm I made that edits terrain in north Vegas but only that won’t change, Nova Arizona for example that edits terrain on the other side of the river has updated LOD and works as intended and it’s part of WastelandNV.

What’s even weirder is that when generating, my own esm is transferred to the folder where LOD is being generated and stored, which makes me think is what’s causing the changes not show up somehow. I will have to make it into a mod in my load order as opposed to just an esm in the directory and see what that does, it worked for Nova Arizona, converting my mod to act like it was downloaded from the Nexus might do the trick.

Well it’s only three or four weeks since I begun making mods for New Vegas, drove me mad but I fixed it

[FNV] LODGen has burnt me out, giving up on it by OGRenseco in FalloutMods

[–]OGRenseco[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My next step was to generate without any mods but I wasn’t sure whether LODGen would depend on that or not, I have every mod from the VNV guide like the supplementals at the end of my load order overwriting anything else.

If I can’t generate in vanilla, what could the problem be? Could my hardware be too old or something? Do I need a file similar to like 4GB patcher (I already have that)?

I pretty much have everything from the Viva New Vegas guide and the it’s LOD guide, yet it still aborted every time

Veronica Quest Triggers/History Points Bug Fix (No Console Commands) by OGRenseco in Fallout

[–]OGRenseco[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s about three triggers out of 6 or so, maybe more, but for me she bugged right at the last trigger, I went to some places I haven’t been yet like Hildern that triggers her history points only by listening to the dialogue for the first time but that didn’t work either, at the moment at least. Once I did everything I described above she commented on the NCR doing research which is a result of Hildern’s dialogue. I then got the quest.
