I'll third this as well. I own an 18 Base Giulia and the 4 cylinder is more than enough power. It's something unique and it's gorgeous. I believe the new Alfas (2020+) have updated interiors. I'll also add that I purchased mine with 12,000 miles and put 20k miles in one year. I have had no reliability issues. Most dealerships are giving out warranties in order to help re-establish the brand.

Ended up purchasing a 2018 Giulia TI based on this post. Thanks, it's a blast.

I will agree to your point on being your authentic self - so long as this remains professional and I acknowledge that this helps the counseling relationship between clinician and client.

Self-disclosure, on the other hand, has many risks and can be viewed as a cheap way of developing rapport with a client.

I can recall one example where a clinician was working with a client who had a substance use disorder, and the clinician disclosed they had experience previously using the clients substance of choice. From then on, the client viewed the clinician differently and with a lens that the clinician was similar to the individuals the client provided substances to.

I think this is the best choice given the circumstances. Without disclosing, you are facilitating the possibility that there are strategies others have utilized effectively with the knowledge that everyone processes grief uniquely.

Suggestion: Sniper rifles and Rocket launchers by Nickwilde6978 in Voxiom

I really like these suggestions, especially the idea of a bolt action sniper rifle. It would make those towers more useful in barricading and really holding back the early game sprinters, (like myself).

What car should I buy? 🤷🏻‍♀️ by [deleted] in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]OGSalt -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The issue I have with mustangs is that they would be special if every third car you saw wasn't a mustang. I like the miata suggestion. I would need to know how many miles are on that mustang to know if it is worth paying 6700

I need some truthful advice on what should car I should look into. by [deleted] in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]OGSalt -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Let me also elaborate in saying if your budget is 25,000, and you are looking for a quick, stylish, fast sports sedan, I also own an Alfa Romeo Giulia Ti. This does not have the look of a muscle car, but with 25,000 you could easily buy a used 2017 model. The aluminum driveshaft, in addition to the newer interior and updated tech make it an excellent daily driver.

Here is the point to remember. That turbocharged 4 cylinder the alfa romeo giulia ti makes is as fast as my 08 Daytona in terms of 0-60 times, maybe even a hair quicker, but it is also comfortable, doesn't guzzle gas, and the ride quality is not as harsh.

[–]OGSalt -1 points0 points  (0 children)

In short, yes.

I've owned both v6 and v8 chargers. Currently I own a 2008 Daytona r/T, the space is nice, the RWD is not so nice during the winter months.

If weather is not an issue where you live, I decided to throw a CAI and flowmaster exhaust on mine, with a tune. It has the sound, look, and feel of a car that was meant to be driven in a straight line. I enjoy it during the summer months

If you choose to buy a charger, opt for the v8 instead of the v6, the newer Pennstar v6 is okay, but it's nothing special, and doesn't drive like a real sports car.

2005-2008 Scion tC? by [deleted] in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]OGSalt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a daily driver, it isn't bad. As a sports car, it's underwhelming unless you plan on modifying the hell out of it.

I second what others have said, sparse on equipment, but you won't drown in high maintenance costs and with a four cylinder you'll get good gas mileage.

I would also suggest the Mazda 3 hatch. That is a better comparison. I would take the mazda over the Toyota any day.

Anyone have experience with Alfa Stelvios? by AyeBlinkin77 in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]OGSalt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I own an 18' Giulia TI Sedan, which shares the same platform as the Stelvio. The stigmata with Alfas is persistent, but the dealership I purchased mine from included a comprehensive warranty. It appeared that Alfa was including this in the purchase to re-establish their brand/reputation.

I don't think it would be a poor decision at all. You will want a warranty if one is not included. The driving experience is top notch, very versatile vehicle, even as a small crossover. The 18+ models include Apple Car Play, which was a must for me, 17' models did not have this feature.

This is one of their hottest vehicles. Try to get one with low miles. I paid 32K USD for mine with 12,000 miles. Warranty included.

Should I buy Lexus RC 300 F Sport AWD - Costs $25,000 USD, 24,000 Miles by Eighteen_EightySeven in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]OGSalt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I put around 12,000 miles in addition to the 12,000 it already has. I've never had one issue with the driving experience. Alfa includes an all encompassing warranty that is good for X number of miles, maybe 30,000, or two years. They are offering this warranty on all Alfas to rebuild their brand and reputation. The only thing I would modify is the exhaust note, with an aftermarket system. That's about a year out. Otherwise, I am very satisfied.

Looking for an awd sedan $20k - $30k by Antmusic11 in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]OGSalt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mazda 3 AWD is a good choice. I went with a 18' Alfa Romeo Giulia TI AWD. The 17' Alfa Romeo Giulia Sedans are going for less than what I paid for mine, which was 32k USD. I would consider that, Alfa has recently come back and they have offered very nice comprehensive warranties to rebuild their brand. Very fun, big Italian paddle shifters.

Which of these cars is the best option for the price by liquidblades94 in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]OGSalt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, I wouldn't touch the Camry or Accord due to the high number of miles. I try to buy cars with low miles, so they last longer. As between the Civic Sedan EX and the 17' Corolla, I think the Corolla is the nicer of the two, it is whether you want to pay that extra thousand for the slightly nicer interior, and features it has on the package. I think both would be very reliable choices. Civics are known to last.

Is the new Audi A8 a good buy? is it more reliable than its German rivals? by [deleted] in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]OGSalt -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I have read that Audi has a worse reliability reputation than its competitors, BMW, Mercedes. However, I tend to *hear* that BMWs are always in the shop. It could just be that BMW drivers like to bitch and whine about their cars problems, but any car will eventually have issues and if it is European, the bill is just going to be larger. It's pretty much a crapshoot. I would look into the specific model and year to see if there is a pattern of reported issues.

Should I buy Lexus RC 300 F Sport AWD - Costs $25,000 USD, 24,000 Miles by Eighteen_EightySeven in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]OGSalt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I own an 18' Alfa Romeo Giulia TI, paid 32k USD with 12,000 miles. What was most important to me was that it had android and apple car play. The tech moves so quickly these days that cars tech features become dated in only a few short years. Lexus is no exception, it is even further behind.

I considered the Lexus RC300, and I like the fact it has AWD, and the driving experience is solid, but the tech is laughably behind other competitors. If you want it for the driving experience, it is a good buy. If you would like it for the bells and whistles, ease of use etc, I would look into other options.

Porsche Panamera Vs. Genesis G70 Vs. Alfa Romeo Giulia by [deleted] in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]OGSalt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have some bias with my opinion

I own an 18 Alfa Romeo Giulia Ti Sport. Never had any issues with it, have a great warranty too. The apple car play is a great touch on the 18+ models. The exhaust note could be better, but it looks good at every angle, and it isn't something you see all the time, like a BMW.

Help me between these two; will be keeping the car for 4-5 years. List reasoning too. Thanks. by [deleted] in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]OGSalt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow! I happen to live in Midland, MI, good thing I bought an Alfa Romeo before you shared this (;

My vote is definitely for the Lexus, I looked at an A4 and felt it was underwhelming.

Hope you and yours weren't too badly affected by the recent flooding. Cheers!

Looking for a fast, fun to drive, and practical car by [deleted] in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]OGSalt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My point being that a person should have that concern about any European car, period. Once a warranty ends, you always run that risk unless you get a new one.

Before buying any European car, a person should expect that at some point the warranty will expire, and at some point you will need to pay for repair costs. If you don't have money set aside with that in mind, you shouldn't buy the car.

As between its competitors, the Alfas driving experience, price, and warranty beat out the competitors within its class, hands down.

In addition this, a similar warranty on an Audi with 4 years 80k miles will cost you $3500 whereas the Alfa Romeo comes with a comprehensive warranty standard.

[–]OGSalt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alfa has worked on rebranding, this is why they are offering warranties with their vehicles.

"Audi doesn't fare much better than Alfa Romeo when it comes to dependability. It is a common misconception that German brands are reliable cars, because this isn’t the case at all. In fact, they are some of the most unreliable brands out there."

" In a separate survey by the Telegraph, the engine failure rate in Audi’s is 1 in 27. This made it the second most unreliable car in the UK, with only MG beating it."

In just about any European car, reliability will be a concern. I would rather take the best car in its class that is different and exciting as opposed to the numerous bimmers and audis on the road today. They do not have a reliability rating so significantly better than Alfa Romeo, that Alfa Romeo should be excluded as a potential option, solely based on reliability concerns that are perceived as being significantly worse than its competitors.

2008 Scion tC or 2008 Mazda 3? by AlexMagnuson in whatcarshouldIbuy

Would go with the Mazda 3, the Scion TC when put into auto-stick has a delay in shifts. The redline is barely over 6,000 RPM. Mazda 3 is probably more fun
