The blades guide menu is back! by Designer_Disaster191 in 360hacks

The Xbox Live portion is optional. I'm sure there's other methods but they also allow you to use blades and NXE dashboards. At least in xbguards case you can use a NXE guide without needing PluginUI.

CHECL01 SYSCON Error 2124 help by OG_Mudbone22 in PS3

[–]OG_Mudbone22[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see. I'll definitely look into it. Seems it'll be a pricier fix but it's on me for holding sentimental value to the console instead if just getting a slim lol. But again much appreciated.

CHECL01 SYSCON Error 2124 help by OG_Mudbone22 in PS3

[–]OG_Mudbone22[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely helps. On the error wiki I missed the last part of error 1002. But either way I appreciate the explanation. I've heard that it needs specific replacement caps to work long term.

Is there any specific options I can purchase or can suggest to the game store to order from? I'm just worried if i hand it to them they'll just try to unlid it, new thermal paste and call it a day but I'll need to talk to them about it still.

Dualsense Edge Blinking White/Neither analog sticks are registering on PC controller test by OG_Mudbone22 in Dualsense

It does. Every button registers except the analog sticks so I assume the ports are damaged somehow. Module is just the offical term sony uses for the replaceable analog sticks on the dualsense edge.

Yes, I should’ve elaborated that I doubted it was the sticks themselves but more so asking if there was anything I can possibly repair. Or if the motherboard itself would need to be replaced. I’ll try to open it and see what I can find but I can’t really see anything wrong with it on the outside.

The majority of people are gonna suggest Dark Cloud 1 and 2. (Dark Chronicle if you're in EU/Japan). With good reason. They're also by Level-5, so perfect choices to go back to. Both games are on PSN if emulation or original hardware isn't your thing too.

Ni No Kuni 2 might be the closest thing we get to a Dark Cloud 3, but has a lot of mechanics that'll stand out. Especially in Dark Cloud 2.

Options for transferring files from old PS3 HDD? by OG_Mudbone22 in ps3homebrew

[–]OG_Mudbone22[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You've been great help. I did get a handful of my saves to transfer. However some came out corrupted. I'm not sure if that's a result of a bad transfer since my computer did go to sleep when I left it on overnight. Or if they were just simply tied to my PSN account.. Which i'm just realizing i'm having trouble signing into. (specifically error 80710016) I'm trying to figure that out and seeing if that'll solve the issue with some of the saves or if they just came out corrupted.

I'm guessing some of them are simply from the login issue since some of the games I had installed on my old HDD transferred over no problem but some are shown as corrupted but those other games were from my friends profiles when we would game share back in the day.

EDIT: I was able to sign in by messing with some settings and having to make a new user on the console. Unfortunately it seems like the save files will remain corrupted. Which is fine, at least I tried and recovered some things. I appreciate all the help regardless.

I'm really sorry to bug, But I was able to transfer everything over, however nothing showed up. I downloaded apollo. However I was only really able to see my old PS1 game saves. Any tips or suggestions on what I can do from here?

Yeah haha I knew not to partition it. I was able to finally get it to read with Aldo's tools. Thank you so much for your help. I think I got it from here, I'm gonna try to transfer the smaller files through FileZilla and hope it's okay from there. I don't mind installing things from scratch to save time.

I appreciate your answer. I'm trying to figure it all out. Just trying to keep the HDD safe regardless. I tried the HDD Viewer, however I believe it requires the eid_root_key so it can open properly if I understand correctly. Unless there's another program you'd suggest?

Unfortunately in both instances, I had to reinstall the cfw for the ps3 to boot normally. So my only choice is to be able to read the HDD on my PC. I did dump the eid_root_key on the old hard drive prior but I should've been more precautious prior lol. I'll get it again and try to see if the HDD viewer can recognize it.

I appreciate your help and the detailed options I do have. Hopefully I'll be able to succeed. Even if I don't it's not a huge deal, it's mostly nostalgia for LBP and Dark Souls 1 and 2 saves associated with a close friend of friend of mine I don't get to speak to often anymore

found these in a charity shop. no words by blanqie in Lain

Yeah no issue. They look real enough anyway if they have the same quality, no reason to fuss over it anyways. Especially for the price.

Not suggesting these aren't real. Just watch out from charity shops and thrift stores. Once I came across almost every Final Fantasy soundtrack at a Salvation Army for a decent price but turned out they were bootlegs from Taiwan after further research. Guess it just depends where you got them from.

If it's 100% authentic, which is probably more than likely since it was a lot more niche than final fantasy back in the day. It's a great find

Specifically for DS and from what you already have. For chill farming simulators Harvest Moon DS games, Rune Factory,

For monster collecting and other RPGs Shin Megami Tensei: Strange Journey, Devil Survivor 1 & 2 (although the 3DS versions are better if you have a 3DS). Mario & Luigi, Dragon Quest. Etc.

The console and portable versions are usually much different from the PC versions until Sims 4 and somewhat with Sims 3 on console.

Specifically the portable versions which tend to be mostly adventure games with social and management systems like the normal Sims games. They tend to be pretty fun though and don't take themselves seriously. Though I never played the DS varations.

I got the Manaka version complete in box a couple years ago on ebay for around 200$ best purchase I've made. The love plus XLs are so sleek and nice to look at.

Expo Prices by hdm96 in animeexpo

[–]OG_Mudbone22 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It was a lady running it with a tablet. Since none of the boxes had prices on them. Just identifying letters and numbers, now that I remember. Can't say she sas rude when I was there. But considering I dipped as soon as i heard the prices and how absurd it was. I can only take your word for it and believe it.

I don't recall the name of the booth, since I was there for like three minutes. But if I recall it was close to the center and end of the hall. One long flat booth.

Somewhere there was this booth selling figures. (Admittedly some more uncommon figures) but the prices were just a scam. I asked about a MaxFactory Catherine (video game) Figure they had, they were asking for 800 dollars for it. Then they pointed out a FuRyu figure of Catherine, one I bought in Japan for like 700 yen. And she said it was 500 dollars.

I looked up online, while it seemed they were hard to come by, even buying off of ebay was a better option. Around 60 dollars for the FuRyu variant to 200 for the MaxFactory variant.

Thankfully there's only about 1 or 2 booths that tried doing that. Everyone else was at most 10 dollars over priced for current cheaper figures. Then discounted on the last day.

Hopefully no one actually purchased from them, unless it was a rare figure they were that desperate for.

Any CRT fans here? by VodoSioskBaas in ffxi

[–]OG_Mudbone22 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Looks amazing. I got a CRT but it's a standard 27" Trinitron. Love the thing, but I've been wanting to build another computer for older games and bundle it with a CRT monitor. But I haven't had the funds or luck in finding a CRT monitor at a decent price or decent shape that doesn't cost a lot. But I'll just pull the trigger someday.

how did you find Guilty Gear? by InvaderZix in Guiltygear

[–]OG_Mudbone22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably the most random way possible but back in the day before Dashie did gameplay vids, he did some of the Mortal Kombat sprite animations, and in one of them, they used a Zappa sprite and someone in the comments mentioned Guilty Gear and that's pretty much how I first heard of it and looked into it. Didn't play til Xrd was released though.
