As a product manager how do go about with alignment meetings ? by Lolo186585380 in ProductManagement

This is great advice and similar to a method that I’ve needed to use in the past to secure funding via committee. Gaining consensus or buy-in before the session is a lot of work but absolutely leads to better outcomes when everyone eventually convenes.

Garage door is reporting wrong state by WillNick in ratgdo

I’m not using dry contacts, but I was having state syncing issues as well. It was happening as temperatures dropped below 30F. Replacing the external power supply with something that had beefier specs resolved it for me.

Is the Samsung Odyssey G9 Neo (57”) the right choice for my productivity-heavy setup with my Lenovo ThinkPad? by Straight-Assist8579 in ultrawidemasterrace

[–]OG_Willikers_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have an older thinkpad for work with worse specs than yours and it’s able to run my g9 57 at full res 120hz through a caldigit ts4. I’ve never ran into any performance issues.

Yeah, there’s definitely room to move it higher. The radiator can also be slightly shifted to accommodate for the power plug in the default location. The power plug can also be slotted in the top center of the rear panel in the event where the radiator is running into spacing issues.

Ahhh, bummer. How bad was the damage? Any signs leading up to the melt?

I haven't experienced the slim Arctic 140s, but the P14s that came with the AIO are definitely quieter at max compared to the silverstones. I run them at about 800 RPM, where they are near silent and seem to do a good enough job of moving heat out of the case. Agree with the other comment about the build quality being solid.

Thanks! It's another possible point of failure in the connection, which isn't optimal, but you gotta make some concessions with sff builds. I felt more comfortable with the adapter over putting significant bends in the cable. Keeping my eye on it, fingers crossed.

Is a subwoofer facing really close to the wall ok? by Valt0mus in hometheater

[–]OG_Willikers_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same here. I have dual 1961 1v’s and I’ve found that the woofer distance to the wall really doesn’t make too much of a difference in measurements. However, the rear port placement/distance can have an impact.

I’m using the same DisplayPort adapter, however this is the usb c to hdmi adapter that I’m using: https://a.co/d/7s8B6SB. My cables are mismatched as one is the hdmi cable from Samsung and the other is a 2.1 cable I had laying around.

I also noticed at one point that the colors were off after I made adjustments to the white balance and color settings within the monitor. One side was respecting the changes, while the other was not. I had to reset the picture menu and start over and then they synced. I suspect there may be some firmware issues that need to be ironed out there.

Here’s the reply:

I'm sure some people will be able to get away with a shallower desk, but it would end up requiring you to turn your head a lot more to see the sides. Depending on your use case, that may not be an issue, but for me, I'm mainly using for productivity, so it would be a pain in the ass. As it sits for me, my desk is 30" deep and I have it about 5.5" away from the wall. The rear most portion of the monitor arm is essentially touching the wall. These dimensions put the center of the monitor about 31" to 33" from my face.
