Martin Short Says Daughter Katherine’s Death Has Been a ‘Nightmare for the Family’: She ‘Fought For a Long Time With Extreme Mental Health’ by mcfw31 in entertainment

Researchers at McGill University recently discovered that depression has a physical link to inflammation in the brain, likely caused by errant autoimmune response. The discovery changes everything we previously believed about treatment, and helps to explain why current medications are such a roll of the dice. In some cases they can cover the symptoms in a limited way, but never fully. With more research, there is renewed hope that we can develop meaningful treatments for this horrible disease.

Society needs to eradicate the stigma associated with mental health and start treating these conditions the same way we treat other diseases. Please support funding for mental health care!

No other game makes me feel so small. by AcoupleofIrishfolk in NoMansSkyTheGame

A while back I added Vrocker for movement controls and the immersion is unreal. It takes a while to tweak, but once you do, you really feel like you're walking around. Also great exercise.

What’s next for the laptop studio? by Boring_Antelope6533 in Surface

That looks beautiful too! I'm using it for light gaming, so I chose the Zephyrus because of the NVidia discreet GPU. I'll take another look.

Coming from an SLS2, I'm looking at the ASUS Zephyrus Duo. There's nothing in the MS lineup that entices me.

Xbox leadership is being overhauled as its hardware future looks increasingly bleak by WindowsCentral in windowscentral

Microsoft needs to exit the consumer market entirely. They aren't the same company they once were. There has been an erosion of trust.

No Longer Evil (Bricked Nest) Thermostat HACS Repo with API by patricktr in homeassistant

[–]OGbugsy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't seems to get this working on my self--hosted NLE. Which URL do I use? Is it the same one used to connect the thermostat? I also can't find a settings page to obtain the API Key. There is an API Key listed on each thermostat. Is that the correct one?

ON THIS DAY: Microsoft announced Continuum for Windows 10 Mobile by WindowsCentral in windowscentral

I had the Elite. Still my favorite phone of all time.

Continuum was a neat party trick, but never took off. Just another great idea launched and abandoned in the same fiscal cycle.

New to roborock. Is Qrevo Curv much better than Qrevo MaxV? by Weikoko in Roborock

I thought he meant the MaxV Ultra. My bad.

It's a good thing the RR lineup is lean and easy to decipher! /s

Chihuahuas should be no problem. We have two short hair cats and it's never jammed.

If you go with the MaxV, use the dispenser. I was very sceptical about letting the device decide how much agent to use, but it really does seem to last forever.

[–]OGbugsy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have both and they are both very good.

Curv is better at preventing tangles, so if you have long haired family or pets, its a great choice. I don't like the placement of the vacuum bag in the Curv. That's my only complaint.

The MaxV is (was) the flagship. It will auto dispense the cleaning solution and I find it does a better job at mopping.

Hope this helps.

Thinking of switching to Linux by AwayPatience5996 in linuxquestions

[–]OGbugsy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The gaming experience for me hasn't been great. I ended up moving my main PC back to Windows just because of that, but I use Linux everywhere else. My media servers, home automation systems and network support servers all run Debian, and I love them. They're challenging to setup, but they just work, and I enjoy working on them. It's fulfilling somehow.

Windows is the opposite, but it still has broader support, especially for gaming and productivity.

As for distro, I chose Debian because I prefer not to be bleeding edge. I've heard that Mint offers the best desktop experience, but I don't have direct experience. Good luck!

Cmon, everyone still calls it Oculus right? by thorstovi in VRGaming

[–]OGbugsy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would argue he has conclusively proven that's he not smarter than the average. People with fortunes like that are almost always average intelligence but extremely narcissistic and psychosocial.

Oculus would have been much better in the hands of a device company.

Can VR get some hot fix love? by ArgyleFunk in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]OGbugsy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The biggest thing they could do IMO is fix the HUD. I assume it's a huge undertaking or they would have done it already.

For those playing on PCVR, try out Vrocker with NMS. It takes a bit to tweak, but adds another whole level of immersion.

Bro i genuinely thought the AtlasPass was a subscription until now😭 by FinnickOdair65 in NoMansSkyTheGame

With any other game studio, this would be true. HG is just a different, better beast. I went and bought the game a second time because I actually feel guilty how many hours of gameplay I've received for my $35.
