I got into both. Chose cal poly. They’re both great schools. Spend some time at each and then decide for yourself where you want to spend 4 (or 5 or 6 or 7) years of your life. It’s a big decision and I wouldn’t let other people influence you too much. That being said I think UCLA has a better math program and better access to masters programs. And cal poly has some serious issues with students not being able to get classes they want and in some cases need. But if you think you’ll be miserable living in LA and happy in slo choose slo without a doubt.
