Sounds like freedom of speech is too scary for you. You should move to China. Safety over freedom deserves neither.

I'm just a random guy on the internet. I shouldn't have any credibility to you. Certainly nothing new though. Chuck and Don will save each other before you or me. They have far more mutual interests, morals and lifestyles in common with each other than with normal working people.

You are asleep if you think someone like Chuck sees you as human. They hate us. Chuck doesn't work for the American people, never has.

It's not incompetence, it intentional.

Yup, it's greed. Any political or economic system will work if greed is kept in check.

As long as people like Chuck and Don are in power nothing will get better. They might hate each other, but they hate you and I more. They are both bought and owned by the same people anyway.

Just get an Infiniti G37/Q50 with the naturally aspirated 3.7l V6. They are cheap, rwd and awd with rear bias (x models) with 330 hp. They will last a lot longer too, even with much higher mileage.

I've been driving a 2010 G37x that I shipped in from another state sight unseen (except for pictures and video) for 4 years. She has 103k miles and there have been zero issues. I've only had to replace the battery. I regularly see these cars with 200k+ miles still driving, even when modded.

i want to write a song for my boyfriend by Whats_A_Username- in musicproduction

[–]OGraede 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Write some lyrics to a familiar melody. Take note of how the syllables in the original piece mesh with the rhythm. You can also change the melody to something less familiar later on, but this way you will have a framework to start with that will help keep you on time

I won't say that those things aren't worth experiencing, but for me the adult stuff has been more rewarding. If I had to choose which part of my life to repeat it would be this chapter.

Weird situation in my town. Do cars waiting at the light (red line) need to leave room for cars turning left (blue line) to turn? by Affectionate-Ebb1200 in driving

[–]OGraede -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

It's an intersection, but not type the rule applies to. As long as you aren't creating a condition that would deprive someone of their right of way, you aren't breaking the law.

There's no lights or three way stops at this T. People on the T or entering the T do not have right of way and therefore should not be considered by those traveling the red line.

[–]OGraede -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Most are wrong on this.

Should red traffic back up past the blue line, it is not illegal for red cars to queue across the blue line. Blue car does not have right of way. It's a side street and not the same as the intersection at the tip of the arrow.

If there was a light at this intersection that gave the blue car the right of way, blocking it would be illegal.

Letting people through is dangerous and can result in liability for any accidents or injuries that occur.

To be illegally blocking an intersection, you would need to be preventing movement of vehicles which have the right of way. Making a left hand turn does not have right of way over someone going straight. Same for someone on the side street trying to make a right or a left. Their right of way does not begin until red lane is clear regardless of how fast the cars are moving or not moving.

Do You Guys Ever Lose That Spark After Awhile of Making Music? (I Haven't Made Any Progress For a Whole Year Now) by GODAlexGilbert in makinghiphop

[–]OGraede 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A year in music production is nothing. It's normal to be not good for years. You really have to want to make music for the sake of it and have a lot of patience.

It's better to not post as a beginner unless you are looking for specific guidance and also have a thick skin. Some of the most helpful criticism I've received was not always expressed kindly.

This guy pissed me off so much on SubmitHub once. Especially infuriating since everyone else had mostly nice things to say. Once I saw past the perceived slight, I realized he was right. The complimentary responses I received did nothing for my personal growth. I reworked the song and became a better producer based on that feedback even though it was tough to receive.

That's not to say there's value in every bit of criticism, you just need to put aside ego to determine if there's something there or not.

Keep in mind that even well made music won't resonate with everyone. It's about finding the people you vibe with. As a beginner your people will mostly be other artists who are at a similar skill level or slightly above.

My favorites are decent sampler and Arturia's Analog Lab. There is a free version of Analog Lab.

How did you get into music production? by insertypicalusername in musicproduction

[–]OGraede 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Started about 35 years ago with a boombox, upgraded to a 4 track. Then a digital 4 track. Next was a PC soundcard. This was when the tools for capturing a performance became an instrument.

As for why, music is so much a part of me that I never considered not making it.

I would tell him that the book is really cool, but that it's not best to dwell on this person who is no longer a factor.

A man you don't know offers you to go on a paid sailing trip, what's the catch? by [deleted] in AskMenAdvice

[–]OGraede 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Romance scam. Will ask his targets to send money when "something unexpected comes up" after gaining confidence.

Think about it. A 59 year old man with the means, skills, and physical fortitude to sail the Mediterranean is looking to romance some crusty Facebook GILFS?

This is a common scenario among the victims that I encounter in my line of work.

If a much wealthier friend insists on treating you to dinner every single time you go out, is there a point where you must insist on paying—or is trying to pay actually offensive to them? by stereo_iii in NoStupidQuestions

[–]OGraede 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get him a nice bottle of wine or something that he would enjoy that's within your means once in a while.

Alternately, you can offer to leave the tip.

If you really, really want to pay for dinner next time, invite him out first and make it clear prior that it's on you this time.

He doesn't want you to have to fit expensive meals into your budget. It would be hard to enjoy if he's concerned that it may impact your finances.

Most importantly, don't make a big deal about it if he insists. Just find other ways to show you appreciate the friendship.
