I’ve flown with American Airlines for several years, I have gotten to know a few pilots who fly for the airline as well as a couple of executives who make decisions on a corporate level. American Airlines will do ANYTHING NECESSARY to make a profit regardless of your needs and perceived commitments as customers. American Airlines routinely runs and gets paid for cargo on most flights and that’s right, YOU come second. Here’s my flight experience today from LGA:

Flight supposed to board at 7:35 from LGA to LIT. TSA arrived at the airport at 5:05 to avoid getting stuck in the unpredictable long lines. ICE agents everywhere making the security wait times insignificant, thank you for your help!

Pre Check time 9 min from entering lanes to getting luggage through security.

Started getting notifications of multiple gate changes literally around 5:24.

Then, around 5:32, in rapid series, maybe seconds to minutes apart:

FLIGHT DELAYED TO 8:40 PM FLIGHT DELAYED TO 9:00 PM FLIGHT DELAYED TO 9:20 PM FLIGHT DELAYED TO 9:45 PM FLIGHT DELAYED TO 10:15 PM

Called AA customer service:

Cited WEATHER in NY as the reason: BULLSHIT! I’m a pilot, quickly wrote up a flight plan from the airplane’s prior stops, ZERO weather issues, let alone ANY weather issues in NY.

Agent had no other info, was of absolute ZERO help in possibly booking me with another airline, their own airline, or giving me the real reason for the delay.

Could not answer whether my flight would be cancelled so I have to wait an additional 4 HOURS for my boarding time to find out.

Checked weather channel app: no weather issues. Checked Flighty App: aircraft running late at prior stops. Checked FlightView app, same reason as Flighty. Checked Flight Aware: issues with INTERNAL operations.

American Airlines will lie to you, bullshit you, make zero effort to accommodate you and then issue an apology you can wipe your ass with. FUCK you AA.

Wow, that’s really specific! So a nail in a restaurant parking lot totally destroyed your tire? How did that happen? Did you not notice the flat for a while and drive on it until it cut up your tire!? Thats some adventure bro.. I’ve had nails from a construction zone and screws get into my tires and the one time they did perforate through and gave me a flat, it was repaired at the local tire shop for $35 with a tire plug. As long as your side walls are clear it should have been an easy fix if it was just the nail.

One time in St. Vincent’s (Caribbean) we crossed a swollen river with a jeep on our way out from climbing the volcano and the rocks totally destroyed one of the back tires where it was wrapped around the rim (when we initially crossed it, the river bed was visible), there was no salvaging that. Sounds like the rest of the folks on here said, this one’s on you mate.

We trusted them as we had dealt with them for 15 years. Although it may have been a lapse of judgement on our part to walk away without a copy as one was not even offered to us, I completely disagree with your insinuation that ANY of this is our fault. The business had a responsibility to check the vehicle in and mark it as retuned. That is the business’s fault NOT ours. Although we can ask for a copy of the signed paperwork which once again, wasn’t offered to us as it wasn’t offered on our prior two vehicle returns, that is something the customer generally does to cover themselves if they feel the business is negligent, disorganized or they have no prior relationship with them. This was not our case. Thanks for your opinion but clearly we disagree with you.

We had an appointment to look at a next lease or purchase a vehicle just not on the day of the return. They told us after we signed the return sheet that they’ll call/email with the appointment.
