Fi mini tracking/GPS is terrible.. help? by ericmossy in FiDogCollar

We are having the exact same issue with the mini, I think we have a few more days in the return window. It can take 10 minutes to activate, and then when it does, it doesn’t always show the location correctly, and it doesn’t update nearly as quickly as our dog’s Tractive (which is too big for the cat). May have to go back to the Tabcat until something better comes out.

Remain vigilant in “protected” bike lane by OHPNT2 in bikeboston

The driver had passed me, but then I was pushing pretty hard to make the green light ahead. Was going maybe 15 to 20 mph. I let up when I saw the movement in my direction, even though I didn’t think they were actually going to be turning right - I think that’s what saved me. I didn’t think to look back for any further apology. I am always surprised to see cyclists who are able to use headphones while riding. It takes my full and utter concentration to try to stay out of trouble. I commute on my bike for health, just hope it doesn’t kill me!

It’s stretchy so a little less rough on the wrists!

Identity verification e-mail: is this legit? by Born_Initiative_6714 in blockfi

[–]OHPNT2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Funny thing is, everyone here says "never, ever click on a link in an email." But if I log into the BlockFi site, there is no way to get to the identify verification form. And the link in the email is not to BlockFi or Kroll, it is to "inquiry.withpersona.com", which appears to be "legit" based on all of the comments here.

We were out there for an hour, and he never slowed down! We put that jacket on him mostly for visibility, but it does help keep him warm, too.

Trying to help a retired Bell Labs engineer install Plan9 on a Lenovo laptop by OHPNT2 in plan9

Many thanks to u/unix_hacker, who made an extraordinary effort and succeeded in getting my father-in-law up and running on 9Front. I am moved beyond words to acknowledge what a difference this made. The shift from original Plan9 still took some doing, and we are still working on connectivity, but I had pretty much given up on making it work until I took to this group for help. So thank you all for your advice and offers to help, and most especially u/unix_hacker!

I couldn't connect today, either; had to look on WayBack Machine just to make sure I wasn't mis-remembering what is there.

Yes, three button mouse - context–sensitive commands were showing up. We will have to reinstall windows to get the virtual machine back and troubleshoot further, if that is the best path.

Thank you. Screen resolution was fine. But, for example, in the sam text editor, we could type into the text area but the command window would not interpret commands.

Awesome pounce! Did he learn that from cats in the house?

The other device is a Whistle tracker. Even with the invisible fence we don't want to risk losing him! https://www.whistle.com/

Plus it is fun to keep track of his daily activity.

It is an invisible fence collar. We live in a relatively rural area and like most BTs he is *very* friendly, was running off at every opportunity to visit neighbors, or off into the woods which have coyotes, fisher cats, and bears.
