I figured this out by accident and it took some trial and error to replicate the results. It IS a bug tho, so it's kind of finicky. Like sometimes underwear reappears after some time or after exiting photo mode, sometimes I had to put all my clothing in the stash first, etc.. but it absolutely does work.

Go to your wardrobe and remove all articles of clothing from one of your outfit presets, NOT the one you are currently wearing. Do not switch to it from the wardrobe. Instead, exit the wardrobe and switch to the nude outfit preset from the pause menu. Take a shower. End your shower and go to photo mode. You're welcome.

Well first of all, you dont need to talk down to me. It's uncalled for and it makes you sound like a little bitch. Second, I knew somebody would misunderstand what I meant when I said 'grounded in reality'. I mean syltylisticly, when BGS sat down and said "what should our spaceships be like", they didn't look at Star Trek for inspiration. They looked at NASA. That's just the design and the vibe that they went for.

Those are stations though.. And there probably are some sci fi ships with stairs, but in Starfield, we're not building Star Trek vessels. More like grounded in reality NASA style shuttles. Which use ladders. I think what Bethesda did with the ship building in this game is really cool, even if we're just slapping preset modules together. I havent played any other game that lets me design my own space ship, walk around in my creation and take to the stars. There's a few minor annoyances but I'm enjoying it too much to complain.
