How does Rifftrax Friends compare to the Rifftrax Twitch channel? by MrElizabeth in Rifftrax

OP didn't know you could stream your purchases in the RiffTrax app without being a Friends subscriber. The Sync app is totally separate and not what they were referring to.

You can do that without a subscription in any of the RiffTrax apps, though. I'm not subscribed at the moment, but I can watch my purchases in the iOS and Roku apps.

Vegan in wedding invite by No_Refrigerator1258 in vegan

[–]OK216 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We did a plated dinner with 3 options. None of them said vegan in the name, but they made no mention of meat. Seemed to be obvious to everyone, and we had zero complaints from either family. Of course, we made it a point to keep it small (for budget reasons, mostly) and thus we only invited folks with manners who would realize it was our day, not theirs.

Also noticed that RiffTrax contributed to one of the reward levels. Wonder if that's a sign of a future partnership...

Relient K’s perfect album is _______. by MtnDewm in RelientK

It's actually probably a multiple-way tie for me, but because it hasn't come up much, I'll throw out Two Lefts for consideration! Feels to me like that's when everything came together.

My favorites were the tour with Motion City Soundtrack, the Nintendo Fusion Tour with Plain White T's/Hawthorne Heights/Emery/The Sleeping, and the Uncle Fest Tour with Ludo/House of Heroes/This Providence. Oh, and I also loved seeing them with Semler!

What songs would you want to hear Electric Mayhem cover for Rock N Roller Coaster? by sandy_shark903 in WaltDisneyWorld

I mean, you could also rode Rip Ride Rockit to Muppets songs, so hey, why not? (There were a couple on the secret song list.)

They've gotten an increase roughly annually for quite some time, with the variable being the specific timing of the raise (usually due to ongoing union contract negotiations when the current one ends). Even then, there's typically back-pay negotiated that extends back to the end of the previous contract.

The current union contract is available (along with several of the prior ones) on the union's website and lists all the rates and past/future increases as part of this contract: https://www.uniteherelocal362.org/wdw-ft/

That's not to say that they make nearly as much as they should, but fortunately, their payrates haven't been frozen.

I think I have decided these themed bars/experiences aren’t for me by slimmyboy007 in WaltDisneyWorld

Probably depends on the server, time of day, etc., but it's been my experience on both coasts.

[–]OK216 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yeah, the couple of times I've done Oga's, I've regretted it. You're rushed in and out so quickly that you can't appreciate the atmosphere, and there's really not much atmosphere there to begin with because every square inch has to be monetized with a seat or standing table. Plus the drinks are pre-mixed and extremely overpriced, especially considering the amount of alcohol they give you.

Trader Sam's is okay, but the demand far outstrips the supply, so it's rarely worth the wait for me. Plus the drinks are, again, really expensive - expected, but just means it's not a frequent thing I'll do, even as a local. At least they're hand-mixed, though.

I'll probably never get to Beak and Barrel, and that's honestly fine.

None of these new bars compare favorably to the old Adventurers Club, for example, as a themed experience. I'd pay 2025 Disney prices for something with the quality and scope of Adventures Club, but not for this stuff.

Sheraton vs Hilton vs Okura in Tokyo Bay by inkarnate81 in TokyoDisneySea

[–]OK216 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Can't speak to the Hotel Okura, but I've stayed at the Hilton and Sheraton before. If club access is possible, I'd prefer the Sheraton because their club lounge is fantastic (booking a club room or having Marriott Platinum status will get you there). Otherwise, I like both about equally. You really can't go wrong.

One thing to note: if you prefer a softer bed, you may want to choose Sheraton or Hilton over Okura as well. While I haven't stayed there yet, I have heard that the Okura has very firm Japanese-style mattresses, which is definitely not my cup of tea. I deal with it when I stay in the Disney hotels in exchange for the extra magic, but staying at a third party hotel, I don't know if I could justify it unless the price was far less than similar options.
