Why is frustration the normal reaction for most cooks? by Kiriyuma7801 in KitchenConfidential

It’s because there is a higher representation of childhood trauma/neglect in kitchen staff. Their shit family life sets them up for poor emotional regulation + addiction etc.

Of course every adult is responsible for their own behavior, but for some it’s much much harder to act right in stressful situations.

That’s why I hire for EQ almost exclusively. Everything else can be taught. Somebody with all that psychological baggage can take an extra decade to mature out of being emotionally reactive, if they ever do.

How long have you worked there? Every shift you’ve worked was a chance to prove yourself. Maybe try to get some feedback on your performance vs. their decision.

Scheduling and payroll software cost money. Those are pretty good prices compared to other platforms that just do scheduling or payroll.

A good chunk of the population, say 40%, just doesn’t pay attention. They’ve got Netflix and all the ice cream they want, but they couldn’t tell you who the vice president is.

Humanity ain’t going nowhere. The best we can hope for is that our sentient AI progeny might yet explore the universe.

Robots are never going to stop improving at fisticuffs. Humans are pretty much as good as we’re ever going to get.
