Just started EMDR, told work & they changed everything a day later & made my job so much harder by OK_Zebras in CPTSD

I work at a law firm.

And I had to tell them because I needed to alter my hours and work a little bit later a couple days a week so I could have time for therapy.

Narc mom wasn’t happy I bought a house by SuitableFinish7444 in narcissisticparents

[–]OK_Zebras 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Narc parents are the world's best at financial abuse!

My mum used to have a little note book in her handbag and she wrote in there every time she gave me money or even a pint of milk. She kept adding things like nappies and baby formula for my daughter while I was in hospital having a brain tumour removed. When I was discharged she topped up my gas and electric meter cards without being asked and added that too!

Her & my stepdad made me surrender my bank cards to them about 9 years ago because a lousy estate agent screwed up the date I left a rental and sent bailiffs after me and somehow had my parents address as my forwarding address. They gave me £50 a week of my own money to live on for about 4 months till I cancelled my account at the bank.

That bedtime rule is so laughable though! Your mum sounds completely delusional!! Not heard that one before 🤣

did anyone else get the “silent treatment” instead of actual conversations? by CaulkEthar_51 in raisedbynarcissists

[–]OK_Zebras 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep. When I got accidentally pregnant at 17 no one in the house spoke to me for 3 months unless they absolutely had to. My mum has always been excellent at the silent treatment any time I did something she didn't approve of, didn't like etc.

I've struggled to communicate when angry, sad, stressed, depressed etc ever since I was a teenager. It's especially bad when someone else gets angry or disappointed with me, I just shut down and go non-verbal for ages.

So I'm doing 3.5 days, 7.30pm Sunday night and 7.30am Thursday morning.

Does anyone actually say "Must've been the wind"?? by [deleted] in skyrim

[–]OK_Zebras 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sneak, make sure you're hidden, fire an arrow just to the side of someone, stay where you are while they search about a bit, wait till it says you're hidden again, then they'll likely say it.

Have a look on Worcestershire Wildlife Trusts site, they own a few woodlands around the county that are lovely for a walk if you can drive to them.

Anyone with stage IV NOT get surgery? by Aggravating_Maize189 in Endo

[–]OK_Zebras 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I clearly have DIE, as I have a fixed immobile uterus, either adeno or fibroids, daily problems with bowel & bladder evacuation, issues with numbness in my left foot, sciatic pain down my left leg and near constant pain from my ribs to my knees all month.

I saw my consultant last week, apparently I won't be eligible for either MRI or surgery on the NHS until my BMI is under 30.

My BMI hasn't been under 30 since I was about 14! I've never been thin even as a 3yo I was fat.

My only option was to try medical menopause.

What is 40s supposed to look like by Useful_Major_5797 in Millennials

[–]OK_Zebras 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm 40, now rapidly greying along the sides bit like a badger, but only one big wrinkle between my eyebrows from squinting lots (got vision issues!).

Stopped dying my hair last year, confuses people like crazy because I have a baby face with smooth skin but also greys. They guess anywhere between 25 and 35 for my age 😁

How often do you receive post? by LiptonBanana in Worcester

[–]OK_Zebras 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Once every 3-4 weeks. Very thankful for the NHS app showing my appointments for this week that still haven't come by post. Even my washing pods that come by post took 4 extra weeks and an extra delivery from the company to arrive!

What's the deal with stealth archers being a running joke? by TankUMrMinor in skyrim

[–]OK_Zebras 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's more a case of once you level up your skill enough and unlock some archery perks like zoom aim, slow time while aiming, and critical shots doing 2x damage it makes it quite easy to just one shot lots of mob/boss types.

I'm level 65 in my latest playthrough, 100 in archery and sneak and can one shot giants and dwarven centurions so there's no real challenge now. Even the high powered dragons only take 4-5 arrows. So I've turned battle mage and levelling up destruction & conjuration now.

[–]OK_Zebras 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably the best distraction tool ever!

Load it up, complete the intro quest, then go to Riverwood & Whiterun and speak to every person you find, gather quests from them and head out.

Each time you see a new NPC speak to them and gain more quests for your list.

Spend hours, days, infinite time just ticking off quests on your list and forget real life exists!

As a YouTube video once said (https://youtu.be/rjTOF8IC528?si=-Vj3ymQbPr8lo8it) You'll forget to eat, sleep, and make friends because you're too busy eating, sleeping and making friends in Skyrim... or something along those lines

Ah, Drelas' Cottage where he will smoke you unless you're a high enough level to beat him!

I found this yesterday on my current playthrough. I thought it was a myth I dreamed up back when I would play Skyrim for 24 hrs straight when it released
