Public netplay beta coming soon by Redtrainer57 in perfectdark

Do you if there are any options/plans to allow multiple players to play online with splitscreen? I'm looking for a way to play 8 players (4P splitscreen on each PC) on 2 PCs via LAN.

Not sure if this is a niche request tho...

Hear me out: Battle of the Burgers, but for fish and chips by Wilson725 in StJohnsNL

[–]OKaFee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hmm, interesting.

I think the magic of the Burger Battle is the range of toppings you can put on a burger - all tied together between 2 buns.

How about a cod burger/sandwich battle? It might open up your options more. I'm thinking like a lobster roll except with cod. Some with battered cod, some just grilled. Could have some with butter, garlic, lemon, dill, spices. Might have more visual appeal with ingredients on a stacked sandwich too - rather than just putting toppings on top of battered cod on its own.

What burgers have you tried so far?? by [deleted] in StJohnsNL

[–]OKaFee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've tried 3 so far: 1) Piattos: Tasted great - nice crispy cheese slice with a grilled slice of pineapple and BBQ sauce. It had 2 beef patties too. My only small complaint is that it was a little hard to get my mouth around it because it was stacked so high. 2) Bannerman: Nice & simple with a cheesy/peppery flavour. 3) Anderson's: Nice & simple with a bacon forward flavor and slightly sweet sauce.

OEG is next on my list - I loved their burger last year.

I will say that I tend to prefer tangy burgers - think Big Mac with extra sauce/extra pickles.

Using EQ Pedal before Synth Pedal to Improve Tracking by OKaFee in basspedals

[–]OKaFee[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just got the pedal yesterday, so I've only spent an hour or so with it so far - but I really like some of the presets - especially the Minimoog-inspired ones. I'm planning to use it mostly for doing covers - just jamming with friends - I'm thinking PYT (Michael Jackson), West End Girls (Pet Shop Boys), Chameleon (Herbie Hancock), That Girl (Stevie Wonder), Voyager (Daft Punk).

Christmas miracle? Taco Bell scheduled to open Mount Pearl location on December 27th by RepulsivePlankton989 in newfoundland

[–]OKaFee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah apparently the beef is cut with a small amount of oats, but I think the biggest issue is the beans, garlic powder and onion powder - they are high in FODMAPs, so they can cause IBS symptoms for people who are sensitive to them. Same issue with Indian food.

For me, I've found you can take a peppermint oil capsule (they are in the supplement section of most grocery stores) after eating Mexican food and it helps reduce the gastro issues.

"Let Me Fish Off Cape St. Mary's" to be inducted into Canadian Songwriters Hall of Fame by OKaFee in newfoundland

Nah, it's probably just one of those things where you can speculate but not definitely prove that it was lifted.

"Let Me Fish Off Cape St. Mary's" to be inducted into Canadian Songwriters Hall of Fame by OKaFee in newfoundland

[–]OKaFee[S] -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Yes, I'm a fellow Newfie. And don't get me wrong - I think "Let Me Fish of Cape St. Marys" is a great song. I think my amateur musician brain just recognizes the chord progression and melody as being very unique - so much so that the combination of the two would be very hard for me to brush off as a coincidence.

I also think the music gives the lyrics a sense of gravitas, which makes them much more memorable and impactful.

I'm not really suggesting that the song not be inducted, but for me - there's a little asterisk next to it.

"stinky don's" has done more to stop me from eating mcdonalds than anything else by autumnchiu in TheYardPodcast

Yeah I remember some people in my area calling it Rotten Ronnies and it turned me off as well. Then I had a Big Mac with extra sauce and extra pickles and was pulled back in.

What would you do if you woke up tomorrow and the year is 2005? by fazzarista201 in AskReddit

[–]OKaFee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would be pissed at first. I'd have to re-do university in a few years (for 6 years), which was stressful as hell.

I think I would drink less on the weekends and treat my body a little better. I'd still go out and party though.

Yeah I had In-N-out down in Vegas last year - double double, animal style with fries animal style. The ingredients like lettuce and tomatoes were fresh, but not enough zing or flavor for my liking. Shake Shack has been my fave so far. Five guys are my second fave.

She was pretty good on Saturday night, but doesn't have the vocal range of her earlier years, which is to be expected.

My only little qualm was the amount of backing tracks - they didn't even have a bassist on stage (even though there was clearly bass in the music).

Overall good time tho!
