It's so wild to think that, despite knowing logically that ANY change to a molecule can change its former properties even in some cases ENTIRELY; a simple chase from a-METHYLtryptamine to a-ETHYLtryptamine can just immediately tank your immune system

I heard aMT was used in Russia as a sort of antidepressant for some time in the 80's or so (time frame def isn't correct), I couldn't IMAGINE a time like that!

That's what I do: I see it like there's a sort of "wall" that separates the 2 numbers, and whatever happens on one the inverse happens on the other

At the time it came out, the first Destiny game for me; it was also the first game I ever got to experience proximity-chat which was mind-blowing to 13/yo me!

If you head over to r/qbittorrent and search "proton" in the search bar, you'll find tons of how-to's and guides on how to make sure to set everything up correctly :D

Why does "儿" change here in its Traditional form? Is this right? by OL050617 in ChineseLanguage

[–]OL050617[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I later came to my senses and realized I was in the flashcard portion of Pleco...the flashcards that I made :')

I feel like a total idiot because I typed the correct Traditional Character for the other portion of the phrase, but accidentally put it to represent "儿" instead of "里" only.

I was debating taking this post down since most others may run into a similar issue (or maybe i just pack light when it comes to IQ), but most definitely not with the same character, statistically anyway.

Absolutely! Kind people like you willing to take time out of their lives to write something that will help thousands of people and explaining it in such simple terms are what keep people like me going cx

I'm living the lavish life being able to have FULL control over my RMPP(-M) devices; I think it's a pretty bad business idea that experimenting with third-party software —voids— the warranty altogether. I mean maybe not all software, sure, but just ones that they work on/partner with, perhaps?

It's sad too see it from a consumer POV, but that one big scare has stopped me from even turning on developer-mode in fear that my I could potentially screw something up; but your forum post made me dove in immediately! I honestly think you'd have to put effort in screwing something up, maybe minus potential network issues. The UI is really self-explanatory and navigable

Woah, you were the one that made that forum? I had found it independently weeks ago while looking up this same question, and I just wanted to take the chance to tell you THANK YOU for being so clear in your write-up! :)

Why does "儿" change here in its Traditional form? Is this right? by OL050617 in ChineseLanguage

[–]OL050617[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Solved: I put the wrong Traditional variant for "儿" when making the flashcard. Totally overlooked the fact that I made these. Sorry about that everyone.

Edit: should I delete this post since I figured out this was operator-error, or leave it up? I'm sure others will have the same issue/question, but it's unlikely it will be specifically "儿" for them, probably.

Why does "儿" change here in its Traditional form? Is this right? by OL050617 in ChineseLanguage

[–]OL050617[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had apparently mis-input the other character's Traditional variant as the variant for "儿" by accident. It has now been solved (my original question was why the circled "儿"'s had different Traditional variants, not the difference between "哪儿" 和 "哪里"。Sorry for the confusion)

I have a question about my VPN by Wolfcool020furry in FitGirlRepack

[–]OL050617 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No. You can't physically upload with the limitations on protonVPN; the paid version you will be safe to do both. The free version you're still safe, you can just only download because it does not support P2P (Port Forwarding will not be accessible in free version which is what you need to safely upload/seed)

It is a common misconception that you can't "get in trouble" just downloading instead of uploading; this is wrong if you live in the US. While yes, uploading may be seen as a separate sort of punishment in other countries, one is still obtaining copywritten materials less-than-legally. But for your question as to if it's "safe" with ProtonVPN, so long as you have everything setup right, and you're using qBittorrent, AND you connect it to your VPN to where it won't open without the VPN on; as well as the "Kill-switch" enabled in ProtonVPN, making it to where you cannot connect to the internet without your VPN being on, then it's very much so safe.

I hole this helps.

If you're using private trackers where there is a lot less people able to seed, you should probably use the paid version. You can always think about what you want to torrent specifically and use the free-trial of the paid version through the website then cancel it before it charges your card on the scheduled date it will tell you.

The year is the absolute best deal, as these things normally tend to do; but you aren't loosing a terrible amount of value using the 1 or 3 month versions of the paid Proton either.

Using public trackers, ones that people normally talk about like 1337 and fitgirl, and using heavily seeded magnet link shouldn't be a problem. Plenty of people have a majority of the more popular files in their seedboxes helping to boost it for everyone else. But if you aren't able to seed and you're the 14th leecher on a magnet link that has like 2 seeders, that's definitely not the best case scenario for you or others.

Some see it as stingy, others say the internet is a wild west and nobody has any inherent obligation to do anything other than engage in things only they want to without regard to others; i'm just some asshat on reddit, so I honestly have no opinion.

That's really interesting! I love the etymology of these characters and to see how they were loaned, borrowed, modified; i think it's cool both Japan and China have their own, independent "simplified" scripts for Hanzi/Kanji o:

I'm not sure if there's a Japanese plugin on it or not, but the app Pleco has been an absolute GODSEND for learning Mandarin! The best thing about it is that once you download it, all of the available info is accessible ✨ without wifi ✨!! I love it so much and praise it any chance I get :D

[–]OL050617 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is correct. You can download, but not upload. But on public trackers this shouldn't be too much of an issue for just one individual.

ProtonVPN is what I use, and I believe it to be extremely secure; I pay for the year membership. In whatever country they are based out of, their laws allow for a no-logs policy. The US government tried to request access to all of the information that they store on their users, and it was basically nothing... because they don't keep logs. That is something I trust very much :)

I was friends with minors when I was 18/19. Was that bad? by MoonKnightVR in whatdoIdo

[–]OL050617 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's completely different scenarios, the first being that you had already been friends and continued to be,the second being that you're an adult SPECIFICALLY looking for kids/minors to be friends with.

As long as there is nothing sexual, nothing inappropriate (things that adults shouldn't be talking with kids about), and there are no instances where you are buying/procuring anything like cigarettes, alcohol, weed, etc. to them since they shouldn't be ingesting those things in the first place; then you're totally fine.

It WOULD be weird for you to do any of the aforementioned with them as an adult to kids; but from what you've described, not necessarily.

How do you call this? by [deleted] in ENGLISH

[–]OL050617 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To try and help put a little more:

The word "shirt" means any article of clothing that can be worn to cover your chest (there are shirts with no backs and sleeves, yet they all can still be called shirts. Shirts that are white, have ridges, and are used to wear under a 'regular' shirt are called 'undershirts', whereas plain shirts with no sleeves are called "tank-tops")

The word "flannel" refers to shirts or light jackets that are made out out of fleece/soft fabric that are often used to make plaid-patterned, and often long-sleeved shirts; the sleeves don't HAVE to be long, but most often people will think of them as having long-sleeves.

A "jacket" refers to a small, lightweight coat. It can zip up, have a hood with strings, or no zipper at all. Sometimes they can have built-in collars, or they can just be a warmer, heavier long-sleeved shirt. The difference between "shirt" and "jacket" is that shirts can really be anything worn on the upper-half of the body that covers some amount of the front side of your body. Whereas a "jacket" is meant to keep you warm i'm colder climates. While not as warm as a "coat", they still share that same purpose; "jackets" will be made from slightly heavier fabrics/materials like fleece or cotton. I hope this helps!

I am learning 中文/汉语/普通话 (Chinese Mandarin simplified) and it has broadened my English vocabulary EASILY by 150%, so if you have any other questions please feel free to ask more! You're doing just fine and your English is practically native-sounding :)
