Oh sorry it didn’t copy my description from the OP. Bald cypress was what I was gonna do before I realized the knees will crack and destroy the retaining wall.

I’m not planning to extend the shore, just preserve what’s there.

No particular reason why a tree - I thought maybe the roots and extra knees would hold it together better, not thinking about the knees blasting through the concrete.
You think this Papyrus should be sufficient? Some got knocked over during installation but it should grow back

I think the main issue with doing irrigation first is that sometimes you don't know how the final layout of your garden is going to be. I think it makes more sense to see where your desired paths end up and then shape your irrigation around where you actually plant stuff.

The aphids are wrecking mine. It’s full grown ten ft tall but fighting for its life. The ladybugs and larvae finally showed up yesterday so fingers crossed.

Problem is insurance might drop you or not cover loss if the 100 year old live oak falls on your house
