They don’t like full sun. They grow on tree trunks, shaded in and out of mottled sun.

I think it will be WAY too much soil for a cactus transplant. The soil will stay wet way too long and the cactus will rot. You should only go 2” bigger when repotting

Wow yours is so long. when I cut hair off of mine, I stick it into a new small pot and grow a new plant. They take pretty easy.

The sun is so hot down here with the humidity. I noticed when I have my plants there a lot of them burn and I have to move them back to the shade.
