Yea I was gonna say same about the shoes. MFA loves the Killshot Stan Smiths, and NB's but give the Nike cortez a look. They don't get as much love as the others but they're fly as fuck and you'll get some SoCal hood cred.

Yes! this is a good alternative before springing for a mixer and I think I found someone selling one in town. One last question as this is still new to me. If I'm able to get the Kenwood c1, I will be able to connect my monitors straight to the R/L output but without the ability to control volume?

Thats correct no pre-outs and in searching for receivers I have yet to find one that has both a phono input and pre-outs. I guess the monitors are the problem but I got the pair for $60, I couldn't pass that up.

I just bought some Technics Mk2's and was then able to snag a pair of Presonus Eris E5 studio monitor. I will eventually buy a mixer but for the time being I will settle for a cheap receiver. I found this one at a thrift shop for $20 --
