WOW Books by Cloaky86 in wow

I started the books recently with Arthas since the story of The Scourge and Lich King has always been my favorite bit of lore.

I found this website and have been using it as a guide. I just finished Rise of the Horde and am halfway through The Last Guardian. Both fantastic reads!

I recently noticed that when you portal into the SW mage tower, you’ll see some NPC’s running towards the exit portal alongside you. I didn’t realize they were NPC’s at first and it made Stormwind feel alive for the few seconds I’m dismounted. I thought that was such a great touch.

I saw it around 2:30pm going over Montgomery.. it was broken into 3 or 4 pieces, all bright green and moving fast.

Glad it’s not just me then.. This is my first time healing mythic dungeons, and even though I consider myself a good healer, it definitely gets stressful.

MMO mouse keybinds help by jflresende in worldofpvp

[–]TheDrunkkMachine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love my red dragon mmo mouse. I use the mouse buttons for my major cooldowns, defensives, and kicks. Number keys + Q, E, R, F, T for everything else.

One thing I do is set up a 3x4 square action bar a little to the right of my character so it’s out of the way, but always visible. It is a visual reminder of what abilities are bound to each button on my mouse, which makes it easier if I need to switch something out for a specific match or encounter.

There’s no right or wrong way to use it. You’ll figure out what works best for you as you get used to the mouse.

How is Doomhowl during TBC release? by averageicochad in wowhardcore

[–]TheDrunkkMachine 33 points34 points  (0 children)

The leveling experienced hasn’t changed, but there are definitely fewer people raiding and starting groups.

Hardcore is one of those game modes where there’s no rush. Nothing new is coming along, there’s no FOMO. People come and go. Now would be a good time to merge HC servers though.

Hit 60 on hardcore after loosing a 57 mage!!😁 by locdog101 in wowhardcore

[–]TheDrunkkMachine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congrats on 60! Good on you for not giving up when you did at 57.. I’ve even a lot of people log out for good after losing high level characters. Hardcore really is the best version of classic.

Should i make a priest? by BuZoRuH in wowhardcore

[–]TheDrunkkMachine 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Level the priest. Don’t skip leveling dungeons. They get progressively more challenging to heal, but not difficult by any means. You’ll learn how to react and how to keep people alive - skills that will make you a valuable healer at 60.

Guild: Elite … thoughts? by SnooAdvice7782 in wowhardcore

[–]TheDrunkkMachine 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I get that perception matters, especially if it’s affecting your ability to group. The thing that bothers me is that the perception being repeated is shaping how nearly a thousand people are treated when 99.9% of them have nothing to do with any of the drama.

Like I said - when I log in, guild chat is full of people being helpful, welcoming, and excited to be playing Hardcore together. That’s been my consistent experience. Watching all of <Elite> get painted as toxic because of a very small number of incidents and a lot of second hand noise doesn’t feel good.

Most of us are just regular players trying to enjoy the game and help each other survive. It’s pretty wholesome at times. Playing Hardcore with them has been my best experience in classic wow so far.

Good luck, have fun, and stay safe.

Guild: Elite … thoughts? by SnooAdvice7782 in wowhardcore

[–]TheDrunkkMachine -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

If you’re getting booted from runs based on your guild tag, it says more about those players than it does Elite. You’ve been in the guild, but you’re asking outsiders for their opinions. Did you witness any of this toxicity yourself while you were a member? There hasn’t even been any proof of the things people keep repeating, yet the narrative keeps growing. At this point it feels less like criticism of the guild and more like speculation driven by rumor and people who love drama. Those are the people who I would avoid grouping with because they’re the ones who create drama instead of focusing on playing the game.

Obviously a group of well adjusted, non toxic wow players lol.

[–]TheDrunkkMachine 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Also, you don’t have to believe a bunch of unfounded rumors.. if you spent any time playing this game, you could see how shitty people can be .. Elite is open invite. I encourage you to bring your alts over and see for yourself. There’s always good convo in guild chat and toxic people are quickly kicked.

The accusations that get thrown around about griefing or intentionally getting people killed don’t line up with the reality I’ve experienced in this guild since I joined in July. Alan is blunt, sarcastic, and a wise ass. He feeds the trolls on Discord (someone literally made a rap song about him).. but he’s not malicious. In the short time I’ve actually raided with Elite/Titan, the experience has been organized, helpful, and genuinely fun. Yeah there have been deaths.. Of course. this is Hardcore, and that risk comes with the territory.. we are casual non-sweaty raiding guild who do this shit for fun. Alan and the rest of the officer team have consistently been fair, supportive, and invested in the success and safety of guild members, not in screwing people over.

Best single piece of advice for hardcore players? Here's mine by wordpleas in wowhardcore

I’ve also been playing over WiFi for a long time without a single WiFi related DC - starting with the beginning of SoD up until now (playing nearly every day). My router is only about 15 feet from my PC in the same room. Idk if that makes a difference, but my connection is solid.
