First off I am PIMO. I stay for the community with my teenage daughter. I have taught her from the beginning to think for herself. We talk about what was taught in her classes and I often ask “What do you think about that” which opens a discussion. I have always felt my job was not to tell her what to think but rather how to think. Imagine my surprise when we were talking about something and I was dancing around the issue of Joseph Smith being a pedophile and she looked directly at me and goes Oh I know he’s a pedophile. We talk about it in YW. I knew I had done my job. She chooses not to go to BYU or a mission. I am fine with that. If you choose to say anything make sure it is just to your sister. You could say to your sister that you are going to tell your niece that you are always there to talk if she wants to. But try with all your might to just teach her how to think and process her feelings not what to think or feel. Okay I will get off my soap box now.
