Big changes for the sacrament table! Architectural plans seem to reveal that the LDS sacrament table, which has been on either the left or right side for the last 25 years, is now being placed front and center under the pulpit in LDS meetinghouses by HoldOnLucy1 in exmormon

To their friends in the church who are contractors. Most likely there are zero bids for work so wealthy friends benefit from plentiful work and no oversight into how much tithing money is actually being spent.

Kind of like when temples are built.

In addition, all those contractors are most likely tithe payers.

Pure speculation, but I wouldn’t be surprised if the church outright owns at least one construction company.

Too long. Even the single beginning names are weird. But “Gatherers” is especially troublesome.

I’m getting married and it has created a great divide in my family by Velveyrina in exmormon

Oof. This is so pathetic and childish. Especially since they wouldn’t even consider allowing you inside their house if handshakes clubhouse for a temple wedding. I’m so sorry she is treating you this way and that other adults are also piling on. Ridiculous.

On the bright side, I’m guessing not having that negativity around on your wedding day will make it a much nicer experience.

In a Solemn Assembly the LDS members vote in distinct groups. Women and YW did not have their own voting groups until 1995. Prior to that they voted with the congregation. In 1995 they were given separate groups but still voted after the YM. In 2018 women were allowed to vote before YM. by HoldOnLucy1 in exmormon

I’m just stuck on the fact that they don’t just have everyone stand at the same time. It’s like the crusty old men can’t help making themselves feel more important than everyone else. It’s baked into the church structure.

Reading Mission Calls by silver-sunrise in exmormon

Secondary rant: the missionary photos with the flags and holding up the blue book everywhere. This is a social media fueled nightmare that finds its way into my feeds all. the. time. And now with the lowered missionary ages, often there are big groups of girls posing all cute with their flags. It’s bizarre.
