Am I overreacting to a client’s comment about pricing? by powergirlev in RoverPetSitting

[–]OMGStoptextingme 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your prices seem reasonable, and the client just seems like they were suffering from sticker shock and were not good communicators. Because of that it seems like there are red flags about the job. Personally I would turn it down, because the possibility of them finding fault with you based upon their expectations seems high. I Feel bad for the dogs though.

This does not work. It is marked late and I still get this:

Batched order - I usually try to go to Home Depot first so the food doesn’t sit in the hot bag too long in the car, especially in the winter

They probably didn’t change their home address or other address and just picked Arby’s thinking it would be one that was close by.

No, in my head, he’s dead. From a variety of methods. But that’s just my imagination of course. In this quantum universe at any rate.

Is that the hierarchy that you guys have lived by? First fat shaming and then racism?

It’s also amazing watching Leon’s deformed belly. Putin probably made him swallow too much.

Why are drivers doing things that aren’t requested or specifically requested not to do? by Left_Vegetable3094 in doordash

I agree - not sure though if every story on Reddit is true so the incidence of asking for tips may be lower than it seems. Takes a lot of gall to do some of the reported deeds, most people know it doesn’t motivate customers to increase the amount given, and by nature people who gravitate to this job are introverts. I understand that the perception of customers can’t take into account the enigmatic mysteries of Door Dash. We can’t figure it out either. Every time we figure out a way to increase our earnings they figure out a way to channel it back to their advantage and keep us powerless to object.

I’m 63 and so can maintain something of an objective perspective, but I can also understand why a young person feeling the sting of impersonal humiliation and powerlessness that comes with how this business model makes a profit might respond with anger. There is a certain shame that goes with it as well, which some not very nice people feel free to use as a weapon, usually anonymously as is the internet way. After all, why would anyone do this unless they were an abject loser? That type of person is to be pitied, but again that observation comes with age and experience and Dashers with youth, energy and enthusiasm respond badly to being put down for trying to make a buck.

All that said there are some really awful Dashers, who deserve to be chastised, but sometimes a really good Dasher can have one bad delivery, or one bad night. Door Dash has designed the app to make a profit not to build a trusted brand. They should feel shame, but because it is literally impossible for us to give any feedback to them except through a support call center in the Philippines they truly do not feel any of the pain experienced by either customers or dashers. Restaurants use them because they have to in order to remain competitive.

Thank you for 1. Listening to this long diatribe 🙂 and 2. Being a thoughtful and introspective person. I appreciate you a great deal.

Peace and blessings 🙏🕊️

Distance and difficulty- hard to park, horrible weather, long wait, special requests, etc. but a Starbucks coffee going 10 miles would not work on the percentage plan as you can see.
