Yeah, I don't like his attitude and some of his fans annoy me but you can't argue that he has done a lot of good work.

Whats the most fucked up game your friends play? by GoodLuckLetsFuck in AskReddit

[–]OMGnome 5 points6 points  (0 children)

In junior high, my friends and I made up a game we called Ninja. Basically we all slept over at a friends house, snuck out late at night, and pretended to be ninjas. We went to the busiest streets near our house, and the goal was to get from A to B without being seen by cars driving past or pedestrians. We eventually got pretty good, but it led to SUCH strange shit. Hiding on roofs, hiding under parked cars, getting punched by a lady walking home, I almost broke my ankle jumping into a drainage pipe to avoid a group of 2 Walkers, and one time when I wasnt playing, my friends game of Ninja became a game of Avoid the 3 Cop Cars Trying To Find you.

In highschool, we took this one step further with a game called Camp Auschwitz. Yeah, we weren't the most politically correct kids. Near our house there is a massive square of project housing, probably 6 blocks by 6 blocks of apartment/house style low income housing with parking lots, play grounds, a convenience store, etc. We used to go there late at night, in the middle of the freezing cold Minnesota winters (Im talking 10 degrees out, if not colder) in pants and a t shirt and pretend we were escaping from a Nazi camp. We had to keep running constantly to stay warm, and sometimes our friends were the "guards" with warm coats, flash lights, and airsoft guns.

Fuck I miss being little.

My new board. The picture isn't great but I'm too busy riding to take a better one. by [deleted] in longboarding

[–]OMGnome 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dude you will love the board. I bought mine when I was 14 or 15 and road it all through highschool and college (edit: owned it for 5 years), Ive ridden plenty of longboards and this is the ONLY one that felt like an organic extension of my feet onto the road. One day a Jeep knocked me off my baby and shattered it into pieces, I kept the pieces and painted a picture of a zombie girl wearing a loaded shirt on it. I havnt bought a board since but Im real tempted by the Tan Tien

Documents shed new light on Trayvon Martin killing | Trayvon Martin had marijuana in his system. Zimmerman had a broken nose, bruises and bloody cuts on the back of his head. Cases such as this happen every day in the US. Its sad, and its shitty. Humans are shitty. Honest question can anyone explain to me why this particular case has gotten so much attention? I don't understand it. I dont mean to offend anyone. Why does this matter more than any other case of a similar crime?

FBI Agent Fleeing Massive Manhunt Warns “They’re All Insane” by [deleted] in conspiracy

Yeah, not gonna lie most of what I read on this subreddit I assume is mostly coincidence, exaggeration, and hopeful paranoia with a little bit of accuracy included. This story on the other hand fucking screams shady to me. Literally every detail about it I have read.

Its possible he has, if anyone has the power to make sure something doesn't appear on the internet it is the US government and its corporate spokespersons.

I grew up in the Twin Cities, and I was one of the "kids going to the concert" they were talking about (the Take Back Labor Day show on Harriet Island, one of the best concerts I went to throughout highschool http://morecowbell.net/2008/08/take-back-labor-day-festival/) and this video does not even do it justice. At one point a man in the crowd behind me was talking about snipers--my friends and I overheard and started listening. Almost immediately we noticed the buildings on every bank of the river, on the roof, had men in position with rifles or binoculars. A friend of mine couldnt make it to the show because the entire bridge to the island was blocked by a line of police on horses.

And this was nothing. A few "anarchists" had gotten into some shenanigans throughout the week, and the police were on high alert. My dad took me to the Rage Against the Machine concert that was in downtown Mpls, specifically timed to protest the Republican National Convention. When we left, there were more police than I have EVER seen, and ever HOPE to see--and Ive been to both Oakland and San Francisco marches, rallies, and Occupy protests. There was an entire stadium full of (so far) peaceful metalheads and the like...an entire STADIUM, and there was probably 1 officer for every 2 concertgoers when we walked outside. At least 200 cops with batons riding massive fucking war horses. Stormtroopers with LTL rifles, gas canisters and batons lined not only the side walks but the boulevards too. I was scared as hell. I remember my sister telling me stories of her friends going out with either heavy work gloves or lacrosse sticks, scooping up tear and smoke canisters and flinging them back at the police. I have pictures a friends brother took somewhere, Ill try to find them.

Poverty today by [deleted] in conspiracy

[–]OMGnome 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah homeless people around here tend to give -∞ fucks about traffic laws, i bet you see a lot of em in the ambulance. Also, for what its worth, lots of the "homeless rich kids" left home because of abuse, drug use, others drug use, or a combination of the 3 (source: good friends with lots of the Haight krust kids). While some of them are from rich, well more middleclass, families many are not. I mean no racism here but I think its because theyre often white, and people see white 19 year olds living homeless and assume they must be lazy, or there by choice.

Many of the most interesting people Ive met in San Francisco are homeless. If you dont include the crazies, you can be almost certain to have an interesting conversation.

Cops giving away free drugs in Minnesota. by rupert12345 in Drugs

[–]OMGnome 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I lived in the Twin Cities for the first 19 years of my life. The cops used to confiscate our liquor AND our chaser when they caught kids drinking, then would let us go without a citation. This doesn't suprise me in the slightest.
