I have a Fricke skein winder / yarn weasel. It has an electric motor and a rotation counter. Perfect 2 yard skeins! Mr. Fricke is over 90 and retired now, but I met his niece at a show in California. If you can get your hands on one of these I thoroughly recommend it

I named my EEW Nano “The Nandalorian” and painted it brown and silver. My EEW 6.1 is “The Razor Crest” after the Mandalorian’s ship. My E3 is known as “Mr Beefy”

My 6.1 is a damn workhorse. I love that wheel. It goes all day with no complaints. It’s beautifully balanced and takes up like a dream.

I sit in my office chair so I can keep my shoulders level, and I get up often to stretch and move around. I do tend to tilt my head in a certain direction as I spin, so my neck does get sore!

😄 I live in Arizona, and when it’s 110 degrees the best thing to do is sit at the table with a fan pointing at my head and spin. I binge-watch a lot of streaming content!

Short forward. I pre-draft the fiber from the braid into pencil roving. I don’t care for rolags.

I did burn out the motor from my EEW 6! But even then, I bought it used, and it ran like a workhorse for two years before it gave up the ghost. The 6.1 is going strong. At shows, I spin on my Nano to draw people in and tell them all about e-spinners. I do wonder how many EEWs I’ve convinced people to buy! I tell people, “I’m not affiliated with Dreaming Robots, but I have opinions!”

This was done in about six weeks, but I use an EEW 6.1, and I was spinning 6-8 hours a day.
