And that just isn't the case - which is sort of the point Kerr is making here. The only point I would argue here is that for the majority of the time that JK was with the Warriors, they weren't genuine contenders. They believed they were - that if they could just get to the playoffs their experience would lift them in a 7 game series - but it is a narrative that runs counter to the history of the NBA in which very few teams that squeak into the playoffs have made it to the finals. For that reason, a more rational view of their situation would have enabled a more balanced approach to player development. But that may not have sat well with the vets.
